So from what i've read a dwc would be like in a 5 gal bucket that is filled to the bottom of net pot with bubbles going all the time under net pot to give Oxygen. So would the roots be in solution all the time. Would this be too difficult for first time, Dad recommended wick system but I want HUGE plants. Any advice?

Yes the roots would sit in the nutrient solution all the time. I'm also new at this but i've been doing a lot of research and it seems as if "DWC" is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get going. I was told by an expert as long as you keep the res. clean, ph the water everyday, and change water once a week you should have no problems. Other than environmental issues:weed:

SO the solution wouldn't have to be very deep right I mean just about an inch over the roots. what medium would be best rockwool or clay pellets? How big of air pump is needed? any examples would help thanx
