would 3X180w Blackstars be enough for 6-8 plants comfortably? i can adjust grow room size to compensate for penetration/coverage area.

Im no longer able to afford my 1000w HPS monthly, and wanted to switch to led.

could i do 6 with just 2 180w? thanks

Really? The amount you are going to mick out for those systems would be 2 months of a light bill from a 1000.. But the 1000 will double the yield.. Then from that a quarter of each harvest could cover your monthly cost..

Yea they do but the initial cost you would be paying like 600-700 upfront for 3 units that would probably give half the yield.. (half is being nice).. I would use led for heat problems or for small spaces not to replace hid lighting.

ok, so what would i be needing in terms of t5 lights (i am a TOTAL NEWB TO THESE, PLEASE SPELL IT OUT LOL) to compete with, or come close too, my 1000w HPS? i normally do 8-9 plants at a time if not more. my are is 6ft long ways, 6ft height and 4feet deep.

I wouldn't say rubbish but they are too expensive right now for what they put out. I spoke with several led dealers as I was interested and basically they said if I'm trying to replace my bid with led I'm looking at spending thousands and I sti won't get the yield with lac of penetration and you will have to run 3-4 plants at most..

You would need 1000 watts worth which would make no sense.. If you are trying to compete with your 1000 watts by using less wattage it won't happen. Your best bet would be to get a 600 hps on a light mover.. Other than that nothing will come close to what your 1000 produces.

hmmm, that digital ballast thing seems perfect. i could run 600w for the first month of flower, then 1000 when buds start to form and 1.5 months remaining and not lose yield?
