Lets not lose track of the fact that a cop in even a legal state can still crush your stones of they want to.

In California, in a perfectly legal outdoor grow, a couple of growers were handcuffed to a piece of machinery while cops brough t in a woodchipper and chopped their entire crop. No charges were filed. No damages paid.

In Mass, which at the time was decriminalized for under an ounce, a cop illegally searched passengers in a car and came up with over an ounce of weed split amongst the passengers. None had more than an ounce individually, but the cop claimed "constructive possession" and charged them all with possessing over an ounce. It was thrown out after a lot of legal expenses.

You can still be perfectly legal and they will jam you up if they feel like it.

This is true. Yet the GOP is still introducing legislation to make it even harder to hold police accountable.

So chew on that the next time you vote for someone with an R after their name.

Right wingers love cops because right wingers love violence and who's more violent in America than cops? Oh, well I guess a case could be made for right wing politicians and their violent tendencies.

I think this is a symptom of how much harder things have gotten for the middle class; we're turning on each other like a pack of dogs at a kill too small to feed everyone.

The rich laugh and use the media to point at imaginary enemies, as justification to keep stripping the middle and lower classes of tax money to line their pockets.

We get the leadership we deserve.

It's going to be a long 4 years...

There has been an experiment with rats, where they build them the ideal rat hotel. It had enough resources for every rat.
Once the rats reach a certain density, all hell breaks loose and they become violent, didn't care for their young, got diseases etc.
The result of high-density living is thus well known, and I think they even replicated the experiment with primates, they ran more than one rat hotel test.
These test were run about the same time as the projects also went to fuck. So, we even had it replicated with humans.

I guess margins are bigger the denser you can stock your labour force.

Police officer's Bill of Rights apparently Shields cops from accountability for their actions.

Sounds like a good little police state.
Well, for now the mayor still has options. He and the city council could immediately cut funding for the dept, the chief, or even fire the chief.

We used to have a concept where the military was lead by civilians. Same for the police.

To make them independent invites a police state. Apparently that invitation has been sent and accepted.

My only difference of opinion with you seems to be the methods necessary to achieve this goal.

I didn't think I ever said what I would do to correct these problems. ;)

What I've said is what I don't think we should do, which includes enabling the election of trump and the repug cabal. I look at these changes as a journey of thousands of miles by foot. Walking the wrong way when a perfectly good path forward is available is rarely helpful. Making feel good absolutes is rarely helpful.

Just one guys opinion of course.
