yeah but thats just another listing like ul/etl and says nothing about the perfomance of the light
I think this is one of the key phrases "As standards for horticultural applications are established, they will be integrated into the program."
Those standards are slowly being written by the decent light manufacturers and growers as we experiment with different tech.

What about;
PAR?
PPfD?
Spectrum?
Efficiency?

She didn't say one word about any of those ESSENTIAL SPECIFICATIONS for any of the lights in either article.

Sad.

Everyone should email her to let her know what you think of her best smd led cannabis grow light picks.

unreal :wall:
christina.bringetto probably isn't even a real person. If you google search for "best <insert-any-product>" or for almost any product review, the fist page or so of results will always consist of a bunch of fake review sites like this one. They have a small write-up on each product and then a link to Amazon where you can buy it. They generally never say anything bad about any of the products, and every single thing comes from Amazon, since they receive a commission on each sale and don't really care what you buy as long as its through their site.

I know man, still pisses me off and the only thing I can do is leave a comment and draw as much attention to this BS as possible so that the next noob that wanders across it at least has a chance of seeing something intelligent from someone, anyone. I am gonna dog that account until eternity.

Man, she don't know the difference between par and PAR. Prolly one of her golf mom friends told her about a way to make cash whilst out on the course....or in the coffee shop or whatever.....

Isn't there an independent standards body for LED tech? I thought there was a newly formed one, just dont recall. But yeah you are both right on the money, there needs to be both an independent and objective standards body (ISO etc) that manufacturers can conform to in their specs, but of course that would make it easy for customers to separate the wheat from the chaff.

think they disabled comments, i just tried to leave one explaining how these lights aren't fit to light up a pile of cow shit, much less a plant of any kind, and it keeps giving me an error message

It's on a website that nobody uses and it's written by a blogger nobody reads. 142 views and most likely all 142 views are by the people in this thread. The fact the website is now linked in RIU will probably give that article 100 times more exposure than it would have had, albeit bad exposure. She's probably sitting there with her coffee smiling as she watches the views climb because that is all they care about, exposure.

Bad exposure is the only weapon available. I am not in the do nothing and hope it/he/she goes away camp. That article was just published today so there is no way to know how much traction it would or wouldn't get or how many rubes would have stepped in the trap.

The comments section is good and polluted now so I am going to take this as a win.

I agree, it's funny and satisfying at the same time to see people calling out her BS. The problem is that there's 100's of sites like that, if not 1000's (in other languages/countries also). At the end of the day, if someone else is careless enough to buy something without their due diligence towards researching it first then that's their problem. Smart people will spend a few minutes learning details, kinda like most people who end up on RIU. I'm sure half of us came here in the first place because we wanted to find out if a certain strain was worth buying or a specific light works good for growing etc.
