I like the idea of hanging where you want. you will love them man. They are so bright all the way to the bottom of the plant. I can see a difference already and i hooked them up tues morning. Buds are getting bigger and fatter everyday and stinker. These plants here still have 4 weeks to go. Im so glad i spent the money on the 300w kit. I have another kit i didnt even hook up yet. 100w citizen 2 cob. I bought them for a friend and he doens want them so i really dont know what im going to do with them yet. Im not using for veg. I have that covered already. I might hook them up with the others but i really dont think im gonna need them.

Hell yeah. Breh. Looking good. I knew you would like them. I had the reflectors on then decided to run with them off. I'll be buying another 200w kit in a couple of weeks.

Thats funny cause i was gonna ask you about them reflectors. Seems to soread the light out a little more. Dan said something about par is better with them on but my area i need that light spread out. I have a 100 w kit i dont know what im gonna do with it yet. I was looking and might just rearrange the lights and hook them up with the 6 cobs i have now. But i did notice my leaves are turning a light green almost yellow. Im not using the dimmer but might have to hook it up. Gonna wait a few more days first

They work great but at 100% it seemed to be a bit much for my plants. When I removed the reflectors I got greater coverage and at 100% and roughly 2.5 ft away the plants love the light and they didn't shun from it. I also dim the lights a few hours before lights out and turn them back up about and hour or two after lights on. I'm also in veg only right now. Didn't see any differences in leaf color but I also slowly went from 20% to 100% gradually too.

I had them kinda close maybe a foot away so i dropped them down from what i had them sitting on today. So couple days i should know. Theres nothing i can do with 3 of mine. They are like 10" from the cobs so i kknd have them where the cob isnt straight on them. I want to keep plants short like in my last pic. My room is 52" high so with the cobs take off 10" now im at 42". So i want them to be under 20" with the pots. Im using 6" pots. And i also lst them so i get more colas.

+1

I've built COBS from scratch before, using PC coolers and fans. When it was time to upgrade I just went ahead and bought a Timber kit. Coulda saved some money going with CobKits or etc. but it was nice to just pay one time and know someone else had done all the homework.

To the OP: your pictures in Post #4 - the plants look somewhat listless. Overwatering? Temperature?

My temp is 73 and i only water every 3rd day and nutes only 1 of them days and they are dry by then. I think they might need watered now. I thought it was to much light so i lowered the plant. Could i be wrong ? Im new to this. Only been 6 months and learn new stuff everyday

Yes they def need water.tonite ! i hooked up the dimmer and the light on 100% are not as bright as not using the dimner at all. Dan did say they would be brighter without the dimmer switch hooked up

Yeah, take a look at a Meanwell .pdf. There's a page called "Dimming Operation". With no resistance across the dimmer wires (referred to as "OPEN" in the .pdf) the driver should run at 102% to 108% of its rated capacity. With 100K ohms across the dimmer wires (in other words, you've plugged in your 100K ohm potentiometer and turned it all the way up) the driver is supposed to run at 100% of capacity. If the driver sees 90K ohms it's supposed to drop to 90% output. And so on, down to 10K ohms and 10% of rated capacity.

My understanding is Meanwell doesn't want their drivers run below 10%, so that's why some folks recommend adding a 10K ohm resistor in series with the pot. With the resistor in place you can twist the potentiometer to zero and the driver will still see the resistor's 10K ohms. So it won't go below 10% output.

Of course, adding the 10K ohm resistor in line with the pot means that when you've got the pot twisted all the way to 100K ohms the driver sees 110K ohms. We don't really care about that. The driver should run just a little bit harder at 110K ohms than 100K ohms. Maybe not enough to see the difference with the naked eye. I'm guessing an electronic meter that reads lux or PAR would pick up the difference between 100K ohms and 110K ohms.

So, long story short, yes, the driver should run harder with no dimming device at all connected to the dimmer wires. Meanwell engineered their drivers to accept 3 different methods for dimming, but the potentiometer is the simplest so that's what most growers choose.

Did watering alleviate that sad, droopy look?
