Tinnyness and too dry - fix with jars and fan leaf or lettuce or orange peel?

My mate cured in plastic bags with those RH (relative humidity) packets. The good news is the packets stayed in but the smoke is a little tinny tasting and is a little dry.

My other trusted and experienced friend may work on improving it.

This thread on another site suggested apple piece in the jar for 12 hours on or off. Others suggested lettuce. Some people suggest orange peels which might help mask tinniness.

One person said to just get a fan leaf (I assume from a vegging plant - which I have). A fan leaf in a jar to bring in more moisture but will not cause mold like lettuce, apple or orange peel might.. How long would I leave the leaf in there?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can't help with the "tinny" taste, but I've had good results using what's called a "humidrole" to re-moisturize overly dry buds- it's a little round metal can with holes in it and a piece of unfired clay inside. I soak it in water for an hour so the clay absorbs some water, then I set the humidrole on top of a piece of wax paper in a jar with the overly-dry buds and seal it up overnight. Works great and is reusable. GL

too late to fix the taste. those boveda (or similar) stole all your flavor/terpenes and you're not getting them back. Smell the packets.....bet they smell better than the bud now. If you MUST use one to rehydrate material a bit I would never leave it in more that overnight.
