Ok i have read the you need to top your plants and i have read that you don't need to top your plants, can anyone tell me what each does? I am curious to know what topping the plant would do would it make it more short and fat with more top cola's or would that be from not topping the plants? any help would be great as i am trying to deside what to do with my babies.
To top or not to top that is the question.

topping will cause essentially 2 tops, and make the plant bushier. Not topping will get you 1 main cola on top. Of course you'll get some side branching either way. Ive been experimenting with whihc is better, at the moment i have some topped plants that are growing really well. Some will argue for either way, it really matters if your working with limited space, and what type of grow your doing. Some choose to do small sog grows with a bunch of plants and no topping, while others top the plants and use a few big bushy ones.

alright well i am doing a mid sized grow (i think ) indoor with a smaller closet and 6 or so plants (depends on how many die and then how many are male) i wonder if i should top them and try to get more cola buds and side shoots or if i should just let them grow as is... hmm still pondering. Thank you so much for your response yota.... any other advice i can take into consideration i will be great full. still reading up to see what choice i make.

well if your plants are awsome smoke get them to max hight before flowering (1 foot veg will get to 2 to 3 feet of flowering) and wait and when your about wanting to kick them rape the shiz out of them for alot of clones

ok i have another little question to add to this.... When you go to top about how big do you want your plant to be before you top her. like 3 inches with 4 or 5 sets of leaves or bigger i am trying to see when i should start to top. or does it really matter after the first set of ridged leaves? any ideas would be great.

usualy topping is performed after the third/fourth set of leafs
