to top or not to top?

Hey guys, lets discuss what topping can do for your plants.

Does it really help you yield more or not?

some people say it is strain dependent. I think it could be beneficial in an indoor setting for sure. outside, I don't see the point of it - although I know many people do it and swear by it. I don't think they're wrong, I just feel like I do better without it

Strains that create "spears" or are heavily biased to developing the main cola are good for topping, scrogging, mainlining, all that jazz. Easier to keep a flat canopy. With the right strain, I'd say it definitely increases yield 'cause there's less larf in general.

Strains that develop branches a lot or are bushy already (kushes) don't stand a whole lot to gain, and suffer from repeated topping.

Often I veg 5 weeks and top twice. This works great on OG Kush for example. I tried it to xj 13. Plant was too bushy. I am sure it hurt yield.
