First there is this, where light intensity over a certain point is wasted.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthetic_efficiency
"Photosynthesis by D.O.Hall & K.K.Rao says that photosynthesis increases linearly up to about 10,000 lux or ~100 watts/square meter
before beginning to exhibit saturation effects. Thus, most plants can only utilize ~10% of full mid-day sunlight intensity."

Then there is bleaching going on with to much LED light.

So yes I think you can have to much light, it's properly a rare occurrence but for argument sake, I'll say yes you can.

leds suck...jus sayin
They make more noise then I imagined that's for sure, and the thought of keep having a study with a closet grow is under consideration.
And they don't heat my room as well as my HPS did, they simply ain't using enough power and it's a bit chilly here right now.

I can't think off anything else that's negative about them.

But please share your experience Mr. vocabulary :-)

I have seen some great grows using led lights. The problem is that the cost of them is still to high as compared to any other system.

What's with all these LED bashers? I thought I was in a 2 year old thread!!! Led's are here to stay..... it's documented all over RIU. In the next 5 years as they perfect them & the cost comes down, LED's will dominate the market. I recommend a Blackstar 500 for a 3x3, 3x4:peace:
You get around 305 watts with BS 500.
