Top Cola looks done

If the top cola looks done, can I cut it and leave the rest of the plant continue blooming or will it kill the plant? this plant grew outside and I just brought it inside before a frost so it would finish blooming.

I tie down those top ones so the ones underneath can get the light, If you think they are done, I don't "THINK" you will kill it. I have cut a whole plant up and left just a few little colas near the bottom and then put her into reveg and she is fine. I don't rightly know if you should be lopping off the tops but I'm sure it's been done. Get some more answers before you get the scissors out oh by the way how are you telling it's done? Trichs or hairs or just frosty good looks?

Trichs look milky and there hasn't been any new growth on the top cola for awhile. maybe I'll try to tie it to the side so the ones underneath will get more light from the HPS.
Thanks MJD

Okay so now that I have had some time, I talked to my master gardener friend and did some research and we all agree cut that bitch off, I was told ( which is what I wasn't sure of) that some people harvest each individual cola as it get's done. So I would just cut it off because now it's just taking plant energy that could be used in those other areas. I usually tie mine down long before anything is done. The trichs being milky and you knowing to look at them are all pluses in my book. So Choppy Choppy LOL

I was reading the harvesting and curing sticky and I think it could go a little longer I don't want to harvest too early! but I've been out of weed for 4 months now and I'm getting a little impatient! :wall:

thanks for your help

Yeah I know how that feels, But if you just want to take that top one I see no harm, you said the trichs were milky so in some peoples mind that's just where they want them. The problem is as a younger person I would just cut and dry and smoke, now as an older smoker I know that I dry it, cure it etc... So it would still take a little time from harvest to smoke, but if you can get some stash to smoke and then the others would be more ready before you cut them go for it. Thats what your growing for right? I would be getting inpatient too. A person can only wait for so long. Now if it weren't this close to being done I would say WAIT, but we are talking a matter of days here, Go for it! 4 months is a long time to wait. I know where I am is I'm legal growing but am worried all the time about running out for the patients. So I keep a lot of plants, either cloning vegging or budding Good luck on what ever you decide to do. SMOKE< SMOKE< SMOKE LOL
