Top sheet for flood and drain

When using a flood and drain table do you need to use a top sheet cut around your plant pots to stop the nutrient solution being directly under the lights during the flood cycle?

no my flood trays are 4x4 7 inches high, my flood level is 5 inches. my 4x4's have 70 gal res. no cover on flood setup

And this causes no problems with the nutrient solution warming then?

my room is 66 night and 71 days. solution says @ 66-70 this is ideal temp. dont let your nutes get to the 80's. it will start to go sour on you

now the res does have a cover... just for clairty

Thanks for the help, I just wondered if the light on the nute solution was any probs.

In the one I'm looking at the tray covers almost all of the res with very little gap either side so that should be ok i guess.

it gets light while in the tray. but with a good crop there is very little light pentration
