Topping Point

Going to be topping this plant soon once I get to 5 nodes and was wondering if I can get confirmation that my topping point is correct if my goal was to get 4 main colas (based on Uncle Ben's technique).

Also if anyone would like to chime in on why there's some stretch between the second and third nodes? This is an outdoor plant that gets around 7 hours of direct sunlight per day. Genetics?

No, I wouldn't cut there and I'd also let it get a little more mature ......if it were me and ready to top...I'd cut at the next node up from your mark you made ....that would make those two tiny shoots your new tops.....at the node above your mark .......I'd let her grow and mature more ....principal stays the same no matter how big you let her get .....GL

please - wait till the plant has 3-4 node before you top !! It at most has only 3 sets' of "true" leaves - need to grow/get healther. too young. But if you top, now it will work - with reduced/slim plant structrure out door or not. -it will be on a few more week of that. Happy cultivation It will be stronger if you let it grow more

Thanks. So everyone is recommending that I cut above the third node correct? Any particular reason for this preference?

The plant Is growing it's fifth node now (unless I'm counting incorrectly) and I do plan on waiting until it has 6 nodes before topping.
Well why would you want to cut your plant in half? When I top, i wait atleast untill the 4th node to grow in, then once it starts to grow just high enough to show a stem, I cut it there. I leave as much of the plant as possible because otherwise all that growth so far would be wasted time and energy.thenug-3MG6ladaaA.jpg

Well I've read that it's generally better to do it after your plant has grown around 5+ nodes since at that point it will be "stronger." Also I'm planning on trying to clone the cut portion.
