Topping Question

Hey!

Just a question about topping.. I have a rooted clone, about 10 inches tall, and it has alternating nodes. I want to cut it in order to grow 2 tops instead of one. If you look at the picture I drew I guess it'll be easier to understand what I'm asking..

So if I cut right below the main growing top, will the two branches below it grow evenly, or will the branch at the higher node grow much faster? The reason I'm asking this is because all of the diagrams I have seen for topping represent a plant WITHOUT alternating nodes.

Thanks!
I hope you guys understand what I'm asking.. feel free to ask for clarification.

mine don't grow evenly. i will top it and the first shoot down just turns into the new top. you can try to "fim" it, maybe?

Hmmm..

Does the FIM method work with a plant with alternating nodes??

Maybe I'll just train it to grow into a horizontal ring, and then let the main cola grow up in the middle (See pic).. would that work?? Then each of the branches coming out of the main stem would end up becoming a relatively nice top, right?
