Toronto Area Support

I'm looking for a doctor/clinic in the Toronto area. I've googled some but the reviews are hit and miss.

What does it take to get a medical card, is there a guide or a thread someone could reference?

Is your current Dr supportive?
I'm not trying to seem like a detective I'm gauging how best to help point you in the right direction

I left doctor about 3 years ago since I've moved out of the area. I have another one now but I've seen him once last year because of my pain. He assumed I was looking for a prescription for pain killers but I was not, needles to say I don't like the way he assumed that I was trying to use him for that so I never went back. The problems I have are not severe compared to some but I find cannabis to be effective and the healthiest non dependant choice.

Ok so you need one of those clinics that do it all in one shot.
Probably going to cost some upfront cash but I'm sure a few people on here will have suggestions

I've heard rumours about places like that, but I wasn't sure where to go so I thought someone here maybe able to help.

Get a letter of diagnosis and look for a dispensary. I know the LP program is the only real legal avenue (although people still end up in court rooms) There are posts and threads about people getting subpar meds from LPs. To give you a run through...takes a few weeks to get paperwork to LP, prices are higher then anywhere else and there has been mold, seeds and mildew within orders. Now, god forbid your not happy witch is most likely going to be the case, you need to go see your doctor and pay for more paper work to be filled out. Some Drs don't like doing this. Then your back at the starting line waiting for your new LP and the mail to come in or; you can call around dispensaries and ask them if they accept letter of diagnosis tbh you will hit 50/50 some like to go all out with paperwork. You will pay lower prices and be able to view and smell your meds. Once you gain a trust worthy relationship you might be comfortable doing mail order through the dispensary.

I would feel safer walking into a court room with a dispensary card then LP packaging.

Hi Luke 905 welcome...
There are definitely clinics that will do all in one shot...google will point them out to you.
Problem is... they will only get you signed up to an LP...which for most here would be last choice scenario....
meaning black market completely dry...and grey market with no choices at all or something....
(so life or death only scenario)
Otherwise you would be best to get a regular doctors note....and work from there with (compassion club/black market or
home grow options)
The home grow is still sort of protected by the constitution as long as you have a doctors note...
meaning no court would convict if you have a medical need.

You should not have to chose between your liberty and your health

ps...we have a member here about to open an dispensary very soon....
I think she will probably be able to point you in the right direction as far as a doctor and a supply of meds....check out some of the current threads and you will be able to find out .....who....if your still stuck them PM me....

Pick an LP.
Print forms.
Get your doctor to sign.
Fill out your application.
Mail original forms to chosen LP.
Done.

There have been issues within the MMPR. One guy posted mouldy weed. A few have seen seeds. Some LPs irradiate.

These problems have been only with a select few LPs and there are some that do it right.

They are not more expensive than anywhere else. Some dispensaries are more expensive and sometimes the black market is more expensive.

I could get an ounce (30 grams) of uk cheese from MedReleaf for 150$.

It depends where you live and what you have access to.

If you want to grow then have at er.
But even with a doctors note you'll still see a court room. You probably won't get convicted but if you want to take the risk that's up to you.

LPs I would avoid indefinitely are tilray, tweed, canntrust, cannimed, organigram, aphria, delta9, bedrocan and peace naturals.

I would recommend canna farms and broken coast. MedReleaf was 7/10 imo.

He needs help not the LP run around, shame on you.
If he wants to be a legal patient, that's what he needs to do.

It's not much of a run around. You need a signature and a trip to the post office.

I also never said not to grow. I just said if you get caught, this is what will happen. It's not a big deal to some.

legal is a moot point at this stage in the game. ;)
There isn't a judge that would convict a patient for doing what they had to do.

It's not a big deal. Just as there are D's being regulated right now,out east , out west and new Rec Bars opening in Toronto and Vapor lounges as well.
People should be made aware of what choices they really have.

I wouldn't steer my worst enemy towards a LP. To be told you might have to wait weeks or if they decide to cancel you for business reasons that's O.K. Doesn't help law enforcement is arresting MMPR patients. Get a note from your doctor and go dispensary hunting. At least you can keep your original note incase your not happy. People have had to contact there Member of Parliament to get there doctor recommendations back after being abruptly cancelled by LPs.
