Tough decision

A friend of mine. (Cough Cough) Has 11 plants he started growing on 12/6 under a 600w hps from bag seeds the smoke was very good that they came from. 1 week ago he started sexing the plants 1 particular plant was one of his friends really good KB that he found a seed in. It had a nice smooth pine taste to it. That plant is a female and looks like the strongest plant. What concerns him is that the other plants look great but some are starting to show signs of being male. They have been killed but he is thinking about killing all of the other ones and just concentrating on the pine plant and cloning from it. Would he be putting all of his eggs in one basket just doing one plant? What do you think?

Yeah, i would concentrate on the one good female. Kill the other ones if they are male, and yes clone the good female, especially since you know that it was goodsmoke. Then from here on out you will know that your plants are female.

also i you have the money, i would recommend getting a MH conversion bulb for that light to veg. It's a lot whiter than the HPS bulb and your friends (Cough) (Cough) plants will grow a little more bushy (Thicker Fuller)

I don't think he should kill all plants until he knows which are male and female. A few things to think about. Is he a new grower. If so one plant is putting all his eggs in one basket. If he has a 600 hps why not get some seeds from Nirvana. They are cheep, fast and secure. I have ordered from them 2 times with no troubles. All 10 seeds sprouted in 24 hours. If you guys are going to do it do it right.

if the dudes a newbie then keep them alive until he knows what he's got. otherwise, it might be worth killing the others off just to keep things simple.

Firstimer is right, when i responded i figured that the man was saying it was his only female. Plus he said it was the seed from his killer smoke, so i was kinda jumping ahead of myself and him

Yes I am a newbie but I'm not an anxious grower either. I understand not to over do it with nutes. I have a watering schedule and yes I was planning on a see of green technique. I guess I'm not so afraid of the mother dying it is just the cloning process i'm skeptical of. I was counting on this one plant to be female from the start and I got lucky enough it is. the las thing I want is it to be polinated by males. It took one week for me to see the pistols and it looks so healthy it might be the "one". My only problem would be in order to do it with one light I want to eventually bud her when i get all the clones i need and then get more clones from the clones is that ok?

cloning is easier than I expected. Give it a shot.

Yeah, Cloning is pretty easy,
I got some cloning gel from my hydro shop when i first starting cloning, three years ago. I stopped growing for two years. Using the gel, i cloned from a window sill with plain water and not covered, (in rock wool, covered with a plastic cup), now i have a cloning chamber, and its works too. Nature is awesome
