Training and cropping??

This is about 2.5 foot or so of plant only...not grow bag.

My friend started ripping out the bottom because he said
"It takes resources and makes small buds" (I get 5x more yield then he does) but he has a point.

"We want them bushy"
Wait, I wanted them like a tree
He said: It can be 12x12 and last year mine was 6x6 (Half year grow)

So does it look correct? I don't want no "Bush" I want a Christmas tree that will be trellised out with cattle wire.

ALso my bottom got colas not pop corn nuggets.
I know he has a point to some extent.

Does the photo look ok?
He said he will tie it down again and again.

I dont want the "Lolly pop" look.

What do I search under to see info on this? I have never taken the bottom out of a plant.

Im sure it looks lame because its a small plant right now and will look great when its 9 foot tall.

The first thing you need to do, is decide who's growin' that plant, you or your friend.when 2 people working on a grow have opposite ideas, it diesn't usually work out too good.
Second, if you wanted a christmas tree shaped plant, that would be an untopped, and untied plant, growing straight up, with the side branches stetching out sideways. It looks like now, your going to have a bush. But that's not a bad thing IMO, go for it now.
