transplanting after realizing if they are males/females

im working with limited space(26 inches by 24 inches but 8 ft in height) so im considering growing 6 plants in 8inch by 11inch pots and once i learn which are famale(hopefully 4) could i transplant them into bigger pots? would this be effective? can you not tell females apart from males untill its to late?

I am not sure what you consider to be "to late" but when you go to a 12/12 light cycle the plants will sense it and release a hormone and they should show their sex in 2 to 3 weeks unless you have some rotten conditions for them to grow in or they are oddball genetics.

Once they show what sex they are you separate the males and if you do that its not "to late."

Depending on your strain as well, you may have a strain that gives very strong indicating preflowers. The previous two strains (both Haze genetics) showed sex before I made my switch from 24/0 to 18/6 (preflower). At that point it only got more decisive and I did my final transplant the day before I changed to 12/12, no issues. Try screening your remaining females after the show sex for you and you should be able to use that space pretty nicely. Do you have an idea of strains you'd like to use? Happy growing
