Transplanting

Hey everyone. My usual transplanting regiment is going from Solo Cup, to 1 Gallon, to 5 Gallon.
Do any of you skip the 1 Gallon and go straight to the 5 Gallon?

Auto's so no transplanting here, but, If I were running clones or whatever, I'd likely only do it once. I get the different reasons why people up pot so much, it just doesn't make much sense to me as a "general rule". I don't see the need. I've no problems with seed to 4 gallon buckets as of yet.

On the flip side of that, if I were doing a water only organic grow with a long veg time, I might up pot more just to get some fresh soil. I don't know for sure in that case.

Skip nothing! Solo cup till daily waterings are not enough. Many holes in the bottom for air pruning. Transplant into 5x5x6 square pots, modified, again, many holes! Especially in corners to trap roots and force them out to air prune off. Score circling roots with a scalpel during transplant. They will live in this container until im ready to flower them, all the wile pinching tops to build the canopy. When the time comes to flower, again i score the outside with a scalpel. With the swuare pots i basically make an "x" on each surface. Very shallow though. 3/16"? Final pot, 2 gal square or fabric. Healthy. Dense. Fibrous. Root system.
