Transport Water?

Im trying to think of some ways to transport water from the source (stream) to the plants, which will be about 200 yards away (600 feet). The best i can come up with are lots and lots of buckets, but i dont know if that will do. ANY ideas are welcome. (the area between the stream and the plants in open forest, with fallen trees, plants, etc.)

Maybe some kind of cheap pump, and hose/pvc piping?

Gravity is the first thing that comes to mind. Is the spring uphill of the plants?

the stream is at the exact same level as the crop and is about 200 yards away. Im thinking about a way to syphon the water using hoses. even if i could only get the water half the distance it would still be a big help. If i were to buy 3-6 100' hoses and connect them would it be possible to syphon the water that far?

being from oz and water is scarce, and assuming the stream is higher than your ploti.e what mogie said, you could submerge a container ,not plastic ,with lots of holes in,leave it under water, under rocks or hidden as best as possible, then get retic pipe or hose or whatever you call it over there, bury it does not have to be a long way just enough to hide, then connect to hidden container ,i.e stick in prepared end,and water should get down there no problems, and if a little time, and effort to conceal is spent ,no one should suss it.on the other hand if it is uphill, hope you have fucking strong arms,or a petrol powered pump if you can get them, water crystals help for longer spells without having to water your plants, also lots of mulch i.e what is around the area and is natural colour etc, will save a lot of evaporation, keep away from stems ,but i guess it depends on human trffic,as to how well you hide your stuff, but i know someone who has done this for four years and all o.k,i think he got the idea from someone over your way who grew in the middle of nowhere.
the crystals are great, add water ,and they expand into a sloppy jelly type stuff mix in your planting area, and mix with your planting mix lower down, great stuff and you would be suprised at how much longer you can go between watering,i grow in the bush a lot and use them ,as it gets a tad hot in oz,but mulch, and crystals help a great deal.
i am lucky as it is easy to dig where i am,not sure about where you are from, but good luck, and happy watering:peace:
