Make sure your solvents are DRY, and hope that there is actually some coke in your purchase and you can make superior blow all by your self. (it's kind of fun)

My losses have always been due to the water in my chems (I didn't ever use reagent grade), it is true that residual acid in your finished product will begin to ruin your product, but you can tell by the smell, if you smell bubblegum, then you left too much acid in your product. The point is to wash it, but as we all know, every wash costs product.
