Trudeau says cannabis will become legal 'next summer,' not July 1

I cant Believe people actually voted for his lies and manipulation.
This "legal" system is entertaining plant counts less the the current "mandatory sentience limits" that begins at 6.
All while further enforcing the mandatory sentencing to obscene new scales.

Best Christmas gift would have been the resignation of our Priminister Justin Trudeau.

He was Right about one thing thought.
His time would be better spent in a Drama Class.

You think we had a better option last election? Like Trudeau or not, Canadians made the right choice. The mandatory sentences for cannabis were a Harper move and have been struck down by the courts a number of times. Rather than enforcing MM's, they have actually given judges more leeway to use discretion in sentencing. No Canadian is serving a M.M. for pot. Even the Liberals stiffest penalty in the cannabis legislation, a max. 14 years for selling to kids, isn't a mandatory sentence. Punishment will range from a fine to possible imprisonment for the worst. Don't sell to kids and you should be fine.
In 7 months we can all grow, possess, consume and share cannabis and even start a cannabis business- I'm not sure what more you want?
I get that a lot of people don't like Trudeau, and some of the rules around cannabis are crazy, but he's the only one that had the guts to make the move. The CONs will repeal the legislation and reintroduce the MM if they get elected next year.

That's the only reason y he was elected, legalizing MJ might be a good idea to the younger generation it's a terrible idea , its legal anyway to people who need it for medical purposes, there is no need to legalize it . Just Trudeau using it to get elected fuck tard

I'm guessing you don't have older kids? Mine don't have criminal records and like to toke - legalizing will keep it that way. I've never heard anyone say they enjoyed prohibition - until legalization was in the works. The only ones that are against legalization, imo, are those who make their living growing and selling in the black market. To suggest that the rest of Canadians forgo the right to use without arrest in order for those guys to continue to operate their tax free grows is about the most ridiculous and selfish thing to come out of a cannabis users mouth. I have nothing against those that grow for a living, but I have no sympathy for those that lose their livelihood because they choose not to play by the rules. The rest of us pay a portion of our income in taxes, the BM growers have that opportunity now too.

MJ is legal if you need it right now just a visit to the clinic , when it's legalized it will get in the kids hands that's the problem, and all your friends who smoke a % of them
Will be in the courts fighting under the influence while driving believe me the end result will not be good , and yes my boys enjoy it

I don't want to be argumentative, but I'm just not following you. It's been legal for patients for 17 years, that was not the issue. Legalization is for recreational use - my kids don't have a medical condition, but they still want to be legal.
Pot has been getting into kids hands for 70 years so I don't understand how legalization will make it easier for kids? Sounds like something Rona would say, so I'm not buying it.
As for the impaired driving - this is going to be a shit show for a few years. They are looking for a magic number they can use to prove cannabis impairment, like they do with booze, but that number does not exist. I predict there will be no convictions for cannabis-impaired driving for years but lots of time spent in court. I agree this part of it won't be good for awhile.
It's still a damn site better than getting a record for a bag of weed.

theyve been handing out 'diversions" (bribes to a local charity) for years now..no one gets a record anymore anyway..(:

legal? You mean regulated so a few rich can run huge warehouses of sprayed weed?.. While the guy growing topshelf, clean weed, hiring locals to trim, gets arrested for selling an ounce to his sick neighbor, or anyone 'of age' for that matter.
Make legal 100% with maybe an age to possess. I can't see the issue, besides the gov can't funnel everyones money as easily like that.
The only reason it got legalized in Maine was because of big money lobbyism and college kids thinking 'ya man, go to the store and buy weed man. So awesome bruh, we'll be able to safely flood social media with us dabbin bruh'.... Atleast the med program kept some of the money in average Joe's pocket...

No legal as in regulated like beer. There is an opportunity for everyone to enter the legal market - no one with a choice will buy warehouse weed. He can still grow top shelf bud and hire locals to trim...he just needs to start paying taxes. Just like selling bootleg booze or CD's, you can do it the legal way or you risk the penalties.
Average joe has the right grow, possess and 'share' up to an ounce, a medical patient has more options.
