firing james comey like this looks bad, but trump and sessions decided that however bad it looked, letting comey carry out his investigation would have been worse.

ouch. talk about running out of good options.

But Comey helped get him in, Trump is losing his mind.

the rationale for firing him was literally everything trump praised him for publicly.

Kinda. First they pick a team of clueless people (Trump's cabinet and staff) to work on a project promoting the worst product ever that paid a lot of money to be the center of attention on the show (Trump). And at the end, some of them get fired and the product that they were pimping fades into obscurity.
