I cleared an entire bong's worth of the 30x salvia extract and held it in as long as i could. I torched it with a butane lighter instead of a regular flame which intensifies the trip because the hallucinatory chemical in salvia, Salvinorin A., increases in potency when exposed to greater heat than a regular lighter, such as a butane. The trip began before i even exhaled. I thought i was a finger on a giant made of other humans. I was so high in the air and i could see the local park and my house and my school. I kept feeling an intense wind blowing all around even though i was in my buddy's bedroom. It only lasted about 20 mins but it was intense. If you think you would like it, be my guest but be careful!

Glad to see a few people actually respecting the plant, and not thinkings its all just fun and games........

Do your research over on Erowid if you need to know anything about it. And don't just do it to get fk'd up, thats not what its for.....

Be respectful of the plant, know yourself, and what its capable of........

I see alot of people disrespect the plant, then look like complete idiots and hurt themselves under the influence. Be mature, and be responsible.

Glad to see those words hippieman.

Just so many damn irrisponsible people these days, that have no fking clue what there messing with.

Salvia has a reverse tolerance. You need x amount to get off. This x amount for me could be 10x less than it would take for another person to even feel threshold effects. It all comes down to how suggestable your mind is to opening doors, and the physical amount that you need to get off.

Personally for me, it takes all of a very small pinch of 5X and i was in a complete visionary state, another frind of mine smoked a whole bowl of the stuff, and never felt a thing. Some people need ALOT, others need very little, And others don't even react at all to it. I react heavily to it, very heavily.

Intresting plant either way. Quite like the off beat circus, multicolored canvasas and flying trapese.........good stuff. Theres nothing out there like being thrown vertically thorugh a good 5-7 layers of another reality, only to fall through the last layer and then figure out wtf just happened.

Too bad people abuse it, act irrisponsible, and do stupid things under the influenece..........the prime reason its being outlawed as we speak....

if you're going to try it I recommend from experience a couple things:

1. LOCK the door, for me whenever I do it I tend to leave the room and expect that we're going somewhere
2. Do it in a very comfortable environment, this is the most important.
3. ALWAYS have a sitter. I have had to save a friend from bashing their head in when they were underneath a trophy stand and unaware of their surroundings.
4. Although I've never tried it, I have heard that its better to have a blindfold or something on so that you don't freak out.
5. Do as many hits as you can then throw that lighter away from you.
6. Do it in a bong, and preferably a new bong that you're not going to ever use for weed or anything else as the taste it leaves in it will never go away and will haunt you forever. It tastes terrible!
7. Don't do little hits. Salvia is a herb that will alter your sense of reality, but if you don't do a large hit with a long hold you won't trip and you will only burst into a fit of giggles; burst into a fit of crying. Plus the after-effect isn't so nice, which lasts from 30 minutes to 1 day. So if you're going to do it, do it Right.

Salvia Divinorum is called the Diviner's Sage; Sage of the Seers. The effect lasts from 1 minute to 30 minutes, although I've never had it last more than 5-8 minutes. I am a bit of a psychonut, I've tried x10, x20, x40, and x60 multiple times. This is a blog I wrote after I had tried Salvia x20, it may show you what this herb can do for you:

During my stay in Europe I got the chance to try some of the strongest extracts of Salvia Divinorum. The experience would change me forever, and finally crack the last remnants of my shell.

My cousin, Jacob, packed me a level bowl of Salvia in our favorite graduated cylinder. He taught me the masterful ways of smoking--To light until it began to crumble into the tiny hole in the middle, and then suck--and suck hard. Hold for 35 seconds and then blow.

It was a perfect hit. Nobody needed to say it twice. As I sat on that spaced, old bean bag the people before me could only see as I convulsed as if I was dying. To me, it was so much more. My first psychadelic trip, but definently not my last.

As the smoke left my lungs I was flung into a parallel reality. I felt myself lapsing downward into darkness, and pushed down with my hands. For some reason I couldn't get a good grip, so I raised my arm and turned my hand around. At that moment my breath sucked in and I couldn't breath, for what I saw was a harrowing experience. My skin was literally flaking and falling away in a stream of sand. I lifted my arms and wobbled back and forth, watching each particle of sand to fall from my limbs.

I kicked my legs out in hopes of grasping ahold of something to push myself back up along the bean bag and away from the void. I didn't know my own strength as my feet caught the carpet and I pushed myself violently back, painlessly hitting the back of my head on a windowsill.
I stared out through that window, my vision zooming up at a street lamp until all I could see was the glass outer casing and the constant, infinitely bright glow.

The fun began after that. The windowsill and the wall projected outward in a scurry and detatched itself from the floor, leaving a gaping space between the two floors. I felt myself slipping--not down into the void this time--but instead I felt myself doubling back. My head passing along my upper, middle, and lower back until I was looking down into the living room on the first floor.

It was just for a split second but I could see the couch, the television, the windowsill, the carpet and the table on the bottom floor from a perspective of viewing it as if I was hanging from the ceiling, which isn't far off as I was doubled back like a professional gymnast with my head slipped through a gap between the two floors.

I drew in a gasping breath and pulled myself up with every muscle in my body, the same way you would pull yourself up from a near-death miss.
The breath I took in was like cool mint through my throat and lungs. It changed the reality I was experiencing and further threw me off course. My body now was being raised into the air, through the ceiling, and into the blackness of the void.
It felt like I was walking along a pathway in the middle of pitch blackness, as I spiraled through time and space, like a meteor spiraling through the blackness of space. Then I was aware. I was walking along a pathway, like a bridge, on the edges of the fabric of reality itself, on the edges of our dimension. Someone or something was watching me, and they felt curious but I couldn't see them.

I glanced to one side and all I could see was the blackness of the void. Then I glanced to the other side and I could suddenly see the room I was in, sitting on that bean bag with my cousin beside his girlfriend and his mate beside me, except I was viewing the room from a fourth-person perspective, from above, as if the place was within a bubble of time. I glanced somewhere else and where I glanced another bubble of time appeared, until I was viewing four different bubbles of time through four different pairs of eyes, all at once.

I came down from the trip and returned to our reality. The experienced will have changed me forever.

A good guide for measuring what sort of trip you had can be found at Salvia Divinorum - Buy best quality Salvia Leaves and Extract and here is a direct quote from the website that many people follow, including me:

  • Level 1 - "S" stands for SUBTLE effects:
A feeling that 'something' is happening, although it is difficulty to say just what. Relaxation and increased sensual appreciation may be noted. This mild level is useful for meditation and may facilitate sexual pleasure.
  • Level 2 - "A" stands for ALTERED perception:
Colors and textures are paid attention to. Appreciation of music may be enhanced. Space may appear of greater or lesser depth than is usual. But visions do not occur at this level. Thinking becomes less logical, and more playful; short term memory difficulties are may be noted.
  • Level 3 - "L" stands for LIGHT visionary state:
Closed eye visuals (clear imagery with eyes closed: fractal patterns, vinelike and geometric patterns, visions of objects and designs). The imagery is often two dimensional. This level envokes phenomena similar to the hypnagogic phenomena that many people experience with the onset of sleep. If open eyed visual effects occur, these are usually vague and fleeting. At this level visions are experienced as "eye candy" but are not confused with reality.
  • Level 4 - "V" stands for VIVID visionary state:
Complex three dimensional realistic appearing scenes occur. Sometimes voices may be heard. With eyes open contact with consensual reality will not be entirely lost, but when you close your eyes you may forget about consensus reality and enter completely into a dreamlike scene. Shamanistic journeying to other lands, foreign or imaginary; encounters with beings, entities, spirits; or travels to other ages may occur. You may even live the life of another person. At this level you have entered the shaman's world. Or if you prefer you are in "dream time." With eyes closed you experience fantasies (dream like happenings, with a story line to them). So long as your eyes are closed you may believe they are really occurring. This differs from the "eye candy" closed eye imagery of level 3.
  • Level 5 - "I" stands for IMMATERIAL existence:
At this level consciousness remains and some though processes are still lucid, but one becomes completely involved in inner experience and looses all contact with consensual reality. Individuality may be lost; one experiences merging with God/Goddess, mind, universal consciousness, or bizarre fusions with other objects real or imagined, e.g. merging with a wall may be experienced. At this level it is impossible to function in consensual reality, but unfortunately some people do not remain still but move around in this befuddled state. For this reason a sitter is essential to ensure the safety of someone voyaging to the inner levels. To the person experiencing this, the phenomenon may be terrifying or exceedingly pleasant; but to an outside observer the individual may appear confused or disoriented.
  • Level 6 - "A" stands for AMNESIC effects:
At this stage either consciousness is lost; or at least one is unable to later recall what one is experiencing. The individual may fall, or remain immobile or thrash around; somnambulistic behavior may occur; injuries can be sustained without pain being felt; on awakening the individual will have no recollection of what he/she did, experienced or said in level 6. People cannot ever recall what they experience in this very deep trance state. This is not a sought after level as later nothing can be recalled of the experience.
I hope this helps you. Cheers, and good luck.
