Trying to work out my media ph

So I've got this coco brick, and I expanded some and did a little test in a cup with 50%coco and 50%water and this was the result, plain tap water used at 8.0 ph with 127 ppm

tested coco and water slurry, and it was 6.7-6.8 ph and 325 ppm

Is this okay to use this is unflushed and just been expanded with tap water.

And since the ph is a bit high with tap water should I ph down by .7-.8 to get a 6.0 runoff? Is that how this works? Or shud I just ph my water down to 6.0 and feed that?

Anyone care to chime in?

I never flush coco. When I ran just coir and perlite I used cocotek for the coco. Expanded brick with tap water and done. As long as the water you feed/water with is 5.6-5.8 you are good. Dont worry about the medium ph or the run off ph. Its a waste of time.

ETA the coco I used did not need flushed before use. Some may have salts. If I had to flush coco to use it, I would find another brand. Not worth the effort imo.
