Turning Lights Off A Few Days Before Harvest

I'VE BEEN READING A FEW THREADS ABOUT HARVESTING AND CURING AND I WAS WONDERING IF TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF A FEW DAYS BEFORE HARVESTING ACTUALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE OVERALL TASTE?

ANY IDEAS?

Most people harvest in the morning right after or before the lights come on. I don't think that having the lights off for an extended period will help the taste as most of that will come from how it is cured...I think...

Ive heard by leaving the lights off for about a week before harvest or a few days before will stress the plant into giving up as much of the goodness it has inside to the outside. This will come in the form of more trichomes and resin!

This is only what ive read. I dont know if it effects taste, i bet it effects the high tho.

If possible, try it and do a couple normally. That way you can compare.

I think it would be the same as harvesting normally, dont cut branches or prune leaves, cut the main stem at the bottom and leave it hanging upside down for a week, then trim and cure.

Dude...havnt you heard about the trashbag method? I always put black trash bags over my plants before 2 days before i harvest. I think it makes a big difference on how crystally your buds are....I will be turnig the lights off on Wed...and cutting my babies down on Friday! Its gonna be great!

oh but i dont believe it affects the taste too much either....if anything its a lil harsher.

The trash bag method sounds like a way to make a lot of mold and ruin a crop that you've spent months on, I have never heard of this but I could be wrong.

I love crystals and this mehtod increases crystal production thorugh the process of stress. AT the end of the flowering cycle the loss of lights throws THC into the buds like you wouldnt believe! Try it if you dont believe me...and if it doesnt work I'll eat my words.

well if your scared about mold dont put plastic bags over ya plants just leave um in a dark room!im not saying that what passittotheleft said is true but if hes speaking from personal experience who am i to argue!

it doesnt affact taste in stead actualy cause the plant to start swelling well the crylaxs anyway

oh and mrskitz is also right does help with thc levels not much but a bit that and dont water for th last week makes drying so much quicker

will they still plump up without any water?

thats why yo do it a week before harvest. it dries out the plant and forces the plant to use the nutrients it has available
