:leaf::leaf: The MAIN difference is the T8 is bigger than the T5. The "T" stands for the shape of the fluorescent. Which in this case would be tubular. And the number stands for the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. :leaf::leaf:

Any and ALL ideas are welcome. I'm currently constructing a 2'x2'x4' closet grow. I'm using a 4" duct fan (80 cfm) for my air exhaust, and a 14" tower fan to circulate air within the closet. I have all 4 walls completely covered in black/white poly paper (85% reflective). My lighting is 18-40W CFL (6000K) totaling 47,700 Lumen.

Before I started my grow I wanted to test the room fully equipped with my hygrometer. The results: 102 F and 18% humidity!!!

Please if you have any SERIOUS suggestions feel free to give them.

Impatiently being patient...:wall:

18 40w CFLs will do that.. I suggest dual exhaust and possibly some frozen water bottles in the box.

Honestly, if my plants are totally dry of water my temps can reach 91 and once I water my plants it can drop to 75...

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to reduce it to 6 CFLs and test the temps again. +rep

Been reading this thread, got a shitload of great info, im gonna start a little cfl grow in some sort of box, wondering if 4 6500k 23 watters would be good for 2 plants in veg, and 4 2700k for flowering?? would they grow ok? as well what would the heat be like off of four lights? would i need a fan? the less stuff i have to buy the better. As well when im done, how do you think i should go about drying, while being as stealthy as possible? thanks for any replys.

if heard of people training their plants to grow within a foot of space under like chicken wire, isn't that possible?

There are light colors that similate the natural suns light etc but I do believe flowering is actually mostly relative to the timed cycle i.e 12/12 (light / dark) as opposed to long day hours like 18/6

Hi there just a few questions in . In small cabinet is it better to have all the same wattage bulbs aroud the top . I am thinking of doing a perpetual sog and was thinking about putting higher wattage bulbs on the new plants side of the cabinet . I was wondering if this would cause the bigger plants to bend towards them ? . Is there an ideal watts per sq foot ? thanks for any help .

Doc help! I'm new and a lil lost. Now from what I've read 6500k is daylight and good for veg stage, but then I hear its more lumen that you need disregard that kelvin measurement. I currently have 42wt flor/150 wat inc with 2700 lumen output, a 26wt flor/100 wt inc at 6500k/daylight but only emits 1600 kelvin, and a 85 wt florex/750wat inc which has 6500k and either 8542 photopic lumen or 5695 of the photopic lumen. Confuses the hell out of me. I have some seeds germinating and looking promising can someone clear this up and tell me what light and type of light to go with. I really don't want to go with an hps system but it seems straightfoward with the descriptions of its effectiveness .Thanks in advance
