Hi guys just upgraded my single 400w for 2 cooltubes both running 400each I have a 6inch rvk fan and a 5 inch rvk 125l fan I have access to 1 window for either intake or outtake can anyone fire me some good suggestions as to rigging this lot up as so far I've had Temps as low as 31 and would like at least a couple of degrees off that I will add that it's a 1x1x2m tent and I run my lights during nighttime hours thanks

1 400 watt light on a mover would do fine but 1 600 wat would be better

I'm trying to hit above the 600w benchmark mate next investment looking like air con lol

I had the same issue with 600w - same size tent. I went down to a 315w CMH from a cool tube 600w and literally have maybe 29c on a good day. Im probably gonna get air con soon but got no idea how to set it up

I'm thinking air con and have the room closed unit mate and cool the room it's in I've just gone balls out and got a 10 inch rvk and acoustic duct fk me some size converted it to run through 6 inch throughout the 2 tubes then a 6 inch inside on a rhino filter to keep smell right give it a go when it fires up later and get all the ducting cut to size this weekend debating on venting to the loft so many ideas so little hours in a day lolreceived_1330481463708378.jpeg

Well goes window to 10 inch duct to fan sat on top the tent running a 10 to 6 in reducer into tent blowing into first tube a piece of 6 inch duct to link 2 tubes then Push out 6 inch too into room I've fired this 10 inch up tonight 27.5 top end so Deffo made the difference up there recent pics with door open so far so good but still got summer yet gives me time to save for air conditioning I'll upload pics tomorrow when full setup is finished 10 inch duct all cut and mounted as my friend @Anth88 dropping by for an exo cheese joint a coffee and help me fine tune this Badboy 800w and I reakon I'd get a 600 instead of 1 of the 400 = 1000w in meter by meter x 2 will say u must have fan blowing as sucking didn't work it reversed my temps

If it were me I would run like this.

Filter>fan>cooltube>cooltube>into larger duct> out through window. The arrows been the air flow direction.
There should be enough airflow just passively coming into the tent and the room with that sized tent and fan.

The other reason I asked to see pics was for thermometer placement. You have it hung in direct light, The light from the HPS will heat it up. Try hanging it above the light line so its not getting warmed by the lamps. The air temp is the key temp to keep lower, the plants can handle higher radiant temps. But to take air temp accurately it should be just above where the light line is.

I gave away my 1mx1m without ever using it and two of my cooltubes to my mate, he ran them vertical in the way I described. The good thing about cooltubes is you can push air through them without causing any turbulence and loss of pressure. The bad thing about them is the loss of light through the glass and the foot print been smaller, you wont have those problems though ey with 2x400w

Anyhow, shift your thermometer and see how temps look, if that's enough to sort em out then no need to chuff about with changing it all round.

Take it easy.

Good thinking it has been hung in direct light but my idea was if thermometer was happy the plants will be as it was at the tallest plants canopy height I'm gonna have a tinker with that idea u said there was just worried I'd burn the 6 inch fan out putting a 10 on the end of it

As long as the fan is a proper inline fan it should be fine, they can handle reasonable pressure. It wont burn out, it would just not shift as much air. Like I say, its worth trying if you find you still cant get to the temp range you want.
Have a google about radiant heat vs air temps in plants. And correct grow room temp measurement :bigjoint:

Yea I've just been doing exactly that having this grow has had me awake all hours missed my alarm phoned work and lied my way to a day off to fix it over today the fans I have are 150mm rvk and 250mm rvk I have a 150mm filter I was gonna remove the 150 all together and just use 250 but will need new filter as I only have 150mm one I do have a sms controller so I could vary the speed and use the small filter for now but only have 1 reducer to connect and I'd need 2 of them as cooltubes are 150mm too I've moved my thermometer at the side of my lights and it's giving me a lovely 25c so gonna fine tune it all in today and try remove the smaller fan
