so I was thinking I have two cob led grow lights 600w which can be dimmed down to 100w , i like to keep at 300w in veg and 600w in flower a piece , i was thinking of getting two 400w hps for my veg 8x4 tent and just using the cob leds in flower

or should run the veg at 300w a piece for the veg tent and get two 600w hps lights for flower

i just don't know if the cobs will grow nicer in flower or veg please help

LED in veg, HPS in flower. I've also found that the burples are better in veg than the higher spectrum cobs. Keeps the internode spacing more desirable.

Yeah, I was just referencing the better blue spectrum in the burple for veg compared to cobs. That's what you have though so def use them. Just dial down like you suggested. 2 - 600 HPS will crush it in flower though. One piece of advise though is don't skimp on bulbs. I've bought every brand of lamp there is, and I've come full circle back to Hortilux eyes. Head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to single ended HPS lamps.

I heard these lights do better in flower should I just go with two 400w hps lights
If your are referring to the cobs, they will do better in flower due to the red spectrum, than they would during veg. But they do just fine in veg. A lil topping or training never hurts. But even 2 400HPS will outperform those cobs in flower hands down. Club 600 ftw! :blsmoke:

No doubt! If I could rock 16, 3-4K Cobs in a 4x4 I'd be a pretty happy dude! About $1200 later and a lot of work is what hinders me.
I thought you said you had a 4x8. With a 4x4 get 8x3k cobs to run very nicely for about $600. Took me about 8 hours to put together my first time and that included a Frankenstein frame.

No, I use multiple 4x4s and also have an open room garden. For my wish list it would be 1 50w per square foot in a tent. Straight powerhouse! Mixed spectrum with some blues added as well. How hard was the framing. That's the part that would fuck me up. I'm good at wiring loads, but manufacturing not so much. With instructions, no prob. Out of thin air....goodnight. I'd have to stop smoking for a week first. :bigjoint:
