i was wondering what would be best because i have lots of sources to choose from rather then using chemical treated tap water all that i tested so far is ph between 6 to 6.5... i have been using the spring water since i started getting problems while using tap water, anyone have any info about different types of natural water??bongsmilie

Thanks for the reply cacamal!! yeah i need to get a meter here in the near future just on a tight budget at the moment, wondering if yellow brownish lake water would be better then natural crystal clear spring water because of nutrients and what not?

idk which would be the better of the two. as long as you dont have fracking or anything going on in your area, it should be fine to use. try both and experiment with which is better, as long as the lake isnt dead and stagnant

no fracking goin on around here and the lake is huge not overly far away its 534 km2, elevation 85 m, max length 100 km, up to 300 m deep, largest lake on the Island
theres 2 springs i know of near me one is comeing up out of the ground(one i am using now) the other comes out the side of a mountain rock face, very clear safe for drinking water both sources!!
Thanks for your help Luger187 i will have to try both sources on some side by side comparisons later

hmm that lake sounds pretty damn big haha. id think it would have enough life in it to be good to use. do these sources freeze up anytime soon? i noticed the snow if your avatar. just wondering if u might lose them soon

the snow you see in my avatar is in northern bc where i work in the winter thats my blasting pack lol.. but the lake freezes up in January or February here sometimes depending if we get a cold or mild winter we still auger holes in the ice for ice fishing so its not hard to get water still, the weather has been strange here the last few years.. we used to get that much snow it would be drifted up to the roof of peoples houses thats not so likely anymore only the odd winter now do to climate change or whatever lol.. but the springs never freeze from what i remember so either way we should be ok in that sense.. heres a medium pic of a section on the lake.

should be real rich in minerals with all the mountain runoff and fish living in it.

the plants shouldnt be around in january anyways, so youll be fine. yeah the lake should have some kinds of nutrients or maybe even good bacteria in it. the springs will probably just have some natural minerals picked up by the rocks. so i think if u go with lake water, u may need cal mag(not sure). or u can use half lake water, half spring water to see if that works better
