A sock (short for sock puppet account) is a low-post-count username who shows up and has a history, knows who the key players are.

Sock puppet accounts are in violation of TOS, but our resident sock puppeteers do it anyway in order to get back on their old forum, especially if the main account has been banned for cause.

Most socks around here are the product of one or two serious psychopaths. Thus our distrust of anyone who comes in and "smells of sock drawer".
