Urgent cob advice needed please..!

Hi all, I'm buying some pre made Osram cobs today. Sat here with the readies and waiting to pull the trigger as they say...!

What I'd like to know is this...

Would you run two tents (36''x36''x1.7m) with 450w of actual draw of cobs in each...

http://www.budmaster.co.uk/budmaster-ii-uk-cob-x-9-led-grow-light.html

Or

Three tents (36''x36''x1.7m) with 300w actual draw in...

http://www.budmaster.co.uk/budmaster-ii-uk-cob-x-6-led-grow-light.html

I don't want advice on grow tent size or self build and how much I'll save. I have complex ptsd and am buying pre made led panels, as I've never even wired a plug...

I just want to know if you had a choice of the 2 above scenarios, what would you run please cob guys and girls...

Would 300w be enough for fat colas? That's the question? Or would 450 watt smash it?

I've just quit using cmh in the same size area, I can't get my head round that I'll be using more efficient light, less efficiently.

I'm dropping from over 3000w of light, downsizing for my sanity lol

Both those above scenarios draw just 900w.

Please advise... If you haven't used cobs before, please say in your reply lol

Thanks people!

That's 50 watts from the wall. Not some BS number a company tells you the light compares to in HPS.

Like my pissant light for example. It's 90w from the wall. But says it'll replace a 150w HPS. But that's only if it's running at full output.

Yeah these are 50w each cob, from the wall. I've seen icemud test them on the video. I know the crack with actual draw and output and their claims, been growing under blurples for years. New to cobs though.

Thanks for your advice. Appreciated. I like the cob9, as It can be run on either 200w, 250w or 450w. So many nice options...

Sounds about right. I'm only my second grow in. So all I can suggest is that you get yourself a good quality light. Bud master look pretty damn good. And I also believe Platinum LED to be another decent brand. There's also Lighthouse Hydro and Amare. They're good too.

Whether its white or blurple. If its a cluster of leds on one die. Its still a cob.

Mine is the latter sort. A weird pinkish cob. Definitely looking to swap that out for a nice 3500k-4000k chip.

I've just sold my platinum leds... They are not very good tbh, I've used many better leds. I've also used Blackstar chrome with success.

Amare look good, but i'm in the UK.

With 300w per 1m² and these osram diodes you should be able to get 400g+.
With the 450w units on the same footprint you should be able to get 500g+.

It all depends on how much you want to get out from each tent.

450 watts for the win.
50 watts per Sq Ft for flowering works great, some like 35 watts/sq ft.
Good thing that you can put the light on a low setting then ramp it up to max..
Im using a Platinum p150 in centre of room surrounded by 9 x 50 watt cxb3590 3500k cxbs.
I wanted to utilise the Red spectrum in the Platinum p150 to see how much more stretch appears in flower.

All paid for!

I ain't a shill either, like these Amare boys lmao

I'm even going to post my receipt on every journal, to prove I paid 'full price' for the lights! lol

So.. 2 Budmaster cobx-9's otw

The interesting thing is I sold 5 cheap blurple leds and 3 cmh kits and raised £979. These are £950 on ebay. So I raised enough for 1. I was prepared to spend more than a grand anyway, so delighted to have 2.

WOW! Seems like a lot of money... But it isn't really. Like old lights for 1, then swapping 5 zips the other lol

Man I'm going to f*cking kill it!(:

Well that sucks, just got a call from the ebay shop saying the price list has changed and they want £1100 for the each led. That's an extra £300. I got a refund obviously. Kind of torn what to do next. I'm not paying £1100 after the shop committing to £950 buy it now price. What a waste of time! The shop spoke to Budmaster who wouldn't honour the price, then called me back with the news.

Shame the owner of Budmaster is away at Spannabis, I'm sure he would have done it. Oh well, there goes that then...

What about a pre made cob light like Timber or a Quantum Boards kit whenever they become available again?
You'd get a cracker cob light from US including p&p for the dough you're thinking of putting down......
Or even 2 Amares ? Lol

I'm going to see what happens when Paul gets back from Spain. Though today hasn't been ideal, I'd still like Budmasters. Local warranty aswell. But yeah if it doesn't pan out next time, I'll give up...
