Use less Nature's living soil but multiply with molasses

Anyone try to use less than recommended amount of Nature's Living Soil but first prime it with molasses? For example, instead of 1 cup to 1/3 the bottom of a 5 gallon pot, add 1/2 a cup but water in a tbsp of molasses 2 weeks before planting

i may be wrong, usuly are lol. but molasses is generaly use to add sugers to aid the benificial bacteria growth in compost tea's and tea's in general. wouldent the sugers ne a nusance and invite bugs into your soil mix?
as i said, could be way off, ive never used it before and have zero experiance with super soil mixtures. i'm 100% organic, so my soil is alive with everything allready. i just use the molasses for food for bacteria.

Dang $26 a pound? And they don't even give npk values? What is in it?

If you're adding 1 pound of just that stuff to 5 gallons of soil to make a water-only mix, it must be mostly dry amendments (like feather meal, bone meal, alfalfa, etc). I wouldn't skimp on it, I would just use as per the package directions.

Fwiw, Espoma Bio-Tone also has all the nutrients needed to go from seed to harvest, plus a bunch of beneficial microbes, and you can buy it at the hardware store for $12-15 for a 4 pound bag...

Overpriced “ dry “ fertilizer/ myco.

You can find most of the needed ingredients in a bagged soil. Plus alternatives to that product for further growth.

Molasses is a bump to microbial life in a soil medium- simple sugar treat for them. Not necessarily a “ requirement “ in a good balanced medium.

I would suggest looking at other products , that would help keep some cash in your pocket instead of falling for “ boutique “ nutes. Plant can thrive on basic fertilizer.
