Using lime to raise nute water PH

So for when I feed my soil, is there any reason i can't use powdered dolomite lime to bump my PH up? It works really well, just haven't heard much of people doing this (besides it already being in the soil to start with).

if it works it works, shouldnt be a problem as thats what its for,just got some today.

it could build up over time raising the pH too much, but I'm not sure.
You can always use baking soda or pH up for aquariums.
