Using mollasses with canna range??

Hi guys. Just looking for opinions and advice on chem nutes and mollasses? I realise this might be quite a noob question but, just needing some different opinions. I'm 9 days in to flip and 7 days since signs of flower. Cheers.

I was using canna in soil, I got black strap molasses and told the guy at my local grow shop and he turned his nose up and said molasses wouldn't do anything and said "putting sugars on a plant won't do anything" and told me to go for pk13 but said it wasn't even necessary.

I don't know if he's right although I've heard that chemical nutes kill microbe life so adding sugars would be negligible?

I'd say do it anyway because it can't hurt..

Hi JD. Thanks for your reply! I also told a friend who's been growing a lot longer than I have, that I was gonna start using mollasses and he said it wasn't something he'd ever use. I hate to disagree with him and your grow shop mate but I'm 2 days in to feeding mollasses and they're already glistening! I'll try and add before and after pics but they may be a little small to see the difference. I also add my regular a+b AND the pk13/14. I worried that I may be overloading them with nutes but I wait for the pots to dry out before feeding. They couldn't be healthier! 20 days since flip, 11 days since flower.

Yeah I would add them to my soil grows no problem, not sure about hydro though. I've even seen someone add actual refined sugar to warm water to dissolve it, add it to cold water then put that in their flush mix over their last few days before harvest and got good results. It's hard to tell whether the refined sugar done anything but if it doesn't do harm then I'd try it.

his is exactly what I've been doing, mixing with hot water first to dissolve. I saw a YouTube video where a guy says to stop mollasses completely for the last 2-3 weeks during flush though? different strokes/different folks I guess.

I mean I'm not sure if that's necessary but maybe test it with one plant and let me know if it makes a difference?

Think I'm just gonna go with ph'd water and canna flush for the last 2 weeks. I've read good things about it.
