using nutes for outdoor plant?

i just finished growing my first outdoor organic and it is pretty good. Next year i am going to grow some northern lights in the same garden(my vegetable garden) and i was wondering how do i use nutes when the plant is in the ground with my other vegetables. any help is greatly appreciated.

You mix up ferts and water in a bucket and dump it at the base of your weed plant.
