This thread has turned out to be EPIC! You started with just a 3 compartment cab build and BAM! you're building an industrial grow op.

It's all a matter of truly believing in one's self. Sitting on my couch for 3 months after being fired, in a state of depression, I realized there is nothing I can't do. All you have to do is build a solid plan, all on paper, then just start putting one foot in front of the other. I also made a pledge to myself that I would not use a single dime of the families money. So I walked into a bank, opened up a new business checking account, which for some reason comes with a credit card and an available balance!! Then my past company kept changing 401K providers, which caused me to have to roll over to IRA several times, so what was left in my current 401K was a small amount relative to my total retirement, so I took the 20% hit and took the cash distribution. Then you walk into Lowes, make a REALLY big first time purchase and they ask you if you would like to open up a Lowes credit account, which gives you a 10% discount on the purchase and I don't have to pay that purchase off for 18 months. Same with Home Depot.

Called a leasing agent to show me some light industrial 1900 sq/ft spaces and in 3 days had a signed two year lease with the first 3 months free.

In a matter of 5 days I had cash and I had space. Next step, find a Prop 215 attorney, hand him a small check, and in one more day I've officially been filed as a California Mutual Benefit Non-Profit Corporation and should get my Federal Tax ID within the next week, which will then let me establish a corporate bank account. I now have an attorney and an accountant. This give me "collective" status and I already have 12 patients which allows me to grow 72 plants. I spent a day, created a "portfolio" which included my business plan, pictures of what I've done, and pictures of "what's to come" and walked into 20 dispensaries who are still selling 1/8's at $60 to $70 and asked them "how many pounds would you like to buy if I sold it to you for $x,xxx per pound (far below what I know they are paying)? Most of them thought I was crazy but 11 of those dispensaries were excited. By the time the day was over I had in essence sold my entire crop. Once the first crop comes in, all debt will be paid off, all income taxes WILL BE PAID along with any state and local taxes. ALL CASH will be run through the company books. Three grow sites have recently been raided and the tips came from non other than the IRS once they discovered these growers (who weren't properly filed) were sending large amounts of cash via the postal service. I'm not going their!!!

I've conducted my first "Board Meeting" with minutes where shares of stock were issued. During the meeting, I brought a motion on the floor and it passed 100% and my corporation has pledged 10% of all net proceeds to Research and Awareness of Arthritis, Depression, Panic Disorder and Anxiety Disorder (everything I suffer from).

BAM, I'm fully capitalized and I can afford to buy top of the line equipment from my local hydro store who is giving me 30% off EVERYTHING, including special orders such as my Current Culture hydro setups, he's 7 minutes down the road, and if ANYTHING goes bad or breaks, he will be my complete remedy.

After doing all that, I still live in a bit of fear and anxiety with the overriding question..."What have I missed?" Hopefully it's only small inconsequential stuff.

yeah buddy looking nice so thats a 1k light that close to the plants nice
Sure is! I'm also blowing 10,000 BTU of A/C and 2 16" fans. The hood doesn't even have a blower on it and the thermometer I set on the glass inside the hood is only at 78*. :-o

Well you can't not do it now, nice update :)
That's what my partners are saying!!!!

hell yeah man great grow!!
Thanks!!!

The end is very near. One thing I forgot to realize when going from an extremely white CMH bulb to a very yellow HPS bulb is that the color of the plants are misleading and I didn't realize it until I took the following pictures under flash and discovered that yellow leaves under a yellow light tricks the eye into thinking they are still green. Also the flash brings out the color of the Amber Trichs which weren't readily visible under HPS.

The girls started flushing on Friday with pure R/O water and based on the color of the fan leaves are at the right time to harvest.

So without further ado, here are full color shots with a GOOD flash!

That's my lighter and a medicine container hanging down to give scale.

Look how beautiful the colors of my Blue Dream are! My goodness had this plant grown to it's full potential would have been Gorgeous!!!!!

Skywalkers

I'm going to harvest them tomorrow. It's bitter sweet and I've been spending a LOT of time with them because I want to remember this feeling forever.

Looking back at the past 18 months I've realized just how far I've come and just how much I've learned. I truly feel all of those difficulties have made me a far better grower. I've not only learned the science of it but I feel I've tuned in to the artistic side of growing. Looking back at how pathetic these plants once looked, most TOP growers would have thrown them in the trash without a second thought.

These plants had their own mission. Not once did they present me with any difficulty that I couldn't calmly reason through. Once they were in 12/12, it was automatic pilot. So I ask myself, "Do I have what it takes to pull off a 48 plant grow operation?"

I sure hope so.

I haven't even considered it to this point and really have no past grows to give me experience. Based on what you see here, what kind of yield to you think I have here?

Man, I hate the feeling I've missed something. I'll knock on wood for you. The girls really do look great! Never harvesting myself, I still want to guess. I'd say around 4-5oz. (just by comparison of what I've seen) Ah, I'm jealous.

Haha, you think you got a hard on for these smokin' ladies... just wait till you have 42 bird flowering! :hump:

How many shares did they give you?

Haha I wish I could come out to Cali and smoke your weed! kiss-ass

I hope these are the salient points which address your concerns. Thank you for looking out for me. :)

All I can do is hope I picked a good attorney. As you can tell, I don't do anything half assed, especially when it comes to Opium (aka. OPM or Other Peoples Money). I am the 51% majority shareholder, and their shares are non-transferable but to anybody but me. Each of us is an individual and own exclusive rights to our shares of the corporation. Each of us maintains a nominal salary as members of the Board of Directors which will be recorded via published minutes and audited at the end of each fiscal year. We only get paid via a 1099 as contractors to our own business as individuals and we will pay ALL Income Taxes as individuals/families since the corporation is non-profit status and we as United States citizens are not non-profit. At the end of the year we'll see how good my accountant is. Everything above board and no secrets. There is far to much money at stake, not just for me, but the families of my partners, my family as well as the patients I will serve.

I aim to grow the BEST WEED POSSIBLE and sell it for the LOWEST PRICE POSSIBLE in order to give patients the medicine they NEED.

It's my little contribution. If I'm going to make a crap load of money, then I have to do everything in my power never to become a rich, arrogant, ass-hole.

And truth be told, this operation could turn out to be a legacy for my children.

peace

Again thanks. It really does help to go over the VERY IMPORTANT points.

Didn't see that 215 thing before, good thinking.... but how does running a non-profit make you rich with lot's of money? From what I understand, the business cannot show a profit... does it keep reinvesting in itself to continue expanding, or does money get doled out to shareholders as salary? You could do it in dividends I guess, but that means the company is making profit.

The 10% of net profits to those ailments is awesome! Keep up the good work.

Copied and pasted:
There are a lot of ways that nonprofit companies make money and pay their employees. The actual definition of non-profit is "not conducted or maintained for the purpose of making a profit" (according to Webster). But in reality, a non-profit just can't earn money at the end of the year. There are multi-million dollar nonprofit hospitals and other types of corporations. There are also small nonprofit organizations that most people are familiar with.

The simple answer to your question is that nonprofits get federal and state grants, donations, foundation funding, and in the case of some, they sell a product or service (i.e. a hospital). The
United States government gives away more than $2 billion dollars a year in federal grants just to religious groups alone!http://www.getting-grants.com .

Once the nonprofit gets their money they spend it for employee salaries and other cost necessary to operate. The nonprofit just can't make a profit and distribute the proceeds to an owner or group or owners.

the real difference between a non profit and a for profit is the shareholders. A non profit does not a have shareholders who want a return on their investment. So making a profit is the prime objective, its offering a "service".
They make money with grants, donations and fees for services.

It's simple. A corporation is it's own entity entirely even though I was the one who set it up. Right now the corporation has value separate from me. However, the corporation can not run without help.

So the corporation comes to me and says "How good are you at running a corporation?" I say "Fuckin' A...I'm your man!!!" The corporation says "when can you start?" I say "5 seconds ago." The corporation says "How about we pay you this much money over the next year on a contract basis?" I say "Only that much, aren't I more valuable to the company than that?" The corporation says "Sigh, alright how about this?" I say "Now you are talking Bro." Then I reach out and shake hands with the person staring back at me in the mirror. I have a legal agreement between myself and the corporation and at the end of the year, I'll receive a 1099 as in individual and have to pay Social Security and Personal Income Taxes.

Now that the company is paying me on a contract basis, I become a direct expense toward the revenue of the company. So the unfortunate part for the corporation is that after the first grow all the debt used to build this place will be repaid. Once that's done and all non-contract expenses (lease, electricity, insurance, etc) has been recorded, then the corporation is allowed to maintain a nominal "reserve" of cash (profit) to go toward future projects or expansion. After that comes the 10% for my charities. And whatever is left over must somehow be spent down to zero. How does that happen? Each parter submits an invoice to the corporation equal to their percentage of the net profit. The corporation pays the invoice and Viola, the corporation ends the year at zero profit. This happens to be a fortunate side for me!!!

Pretty cool, huh? I love that my BS in Business Administration hasn't been all smoked away!!

:clap::clap: GRAND SLAM HOMER and IT'S OUTTA THE PARK!!:clap::clap:

I DID IT!!!! :D :D :D Un-fucking-believable. There's sooo much!!!

Skywalker OG #3 was the first to chop. I was just going to hang them in the screen but after turning the screen over, everything was soooo dense and green, I was afraid I wouldn't get proper airflow so I went ahead and cut them out of the screens and then used the screens as hangers. On the ground in front are the few fans leaves that were left on her. The pile near the wall is ALL BUD and sugar leaf and was being hung.

Bud, Bud and more Bud!

She's all hung and looking up from underneith.

And the RUNT QUEEN, Skywalker OG #1. There's at least 20 more of these just from her alone!

From left to right, SOG #3, SOG #1, SOG #2 and Blue Dream at the far right. Just beautiful!

Look ma, no dead leaves and I didn't clean once!!! The 400watt CMH penetrated all the way to the bottom. I have little sugar buds all down the bottoms of all the stems. Nothing but healthy growth. I guess I'm just lucky!!! ;) :bigjoint:

I have two 16 inch fans on the #1 setting set back about 5 feet, just enough to shake the leaves. Humidity is at 50% and temps at 68* and it's dark. Is this the right settings? I could bring in the AC to drop the humidity down, but then it might dry them too fast?

This is all so bitter sweet. But once I saw how much was coming out of the plants, that feeling went away.

Thanks to everyone following along and who helped along the way!! I still have to get through dry without molding and then it should be easy from their!

nice grow and harvest! +rep
you gonna trim the sugar leaves? itll help dry the buds a lil faster cause they hold a lot of moisture the buds can keep pullin from.

I only trimmed off the fan leaves to help with air flow. Many senior growers, such as cruzer101, will take the entire plant, untrimmed, and hang it by the main stalk fan leaves and all. As the leaves dry out, the will start to curl downward, protecting the bud and allowing for a slower, more even dry. I'll keep humidity in the mid to upper 40's and keep enough breeze blowing on them just to make the leaves wiggle. This should also give a good dry/cure of the sugar leaves and hopefully get some tasty butter out of them!! :D
