Veg Time

I've grown outdoors for years but switched to growing indoors last winter. I use a 600w MH/HPS, in soil, 5 gallon Buckets, and I LST the hell out of my plants grown from seed... usually a 2 month veg.
My question is when does a long veg period become pointless? Like, if I veg my normal 2 months from seed and hit between 2 1/2oz-4oz per plant would vegging an extra 2 weeks make a huge difference in yield? Or would it stay about the same?

I have also only started running indoor.

last run I vegged 4 plants for 9 weeks from seed under a 600w HID in soil under a scrog and got a pound (just) so that's an avg of 4 oz per plant.
IDK if that helps you or not.

I would say 3monthes is as long as i would go as i have some now that where monster cropped in October ish.
So they are in that 2 to 3 month mark .

Its a love hate realtion ship as i would love to go with a 2 week veg. But i cant make what i need with running legal plant count.

So i have to veg for around 1-2 months like you

But I would love to just let a 100 clones rip and be done in 2 months lol

Sorry if it doesnt help

I'm right at the 2 month mark right now.. 3 plants and the canopy is about 3'x3' and is nice and even. I was thinking about letting them go another two weeks or so to see if it helps my yield... but afraid that I'd just be wasting time.

I just built a bubble cloner hoping that the clones take off so I can try to run 12-18 clones with 2-4 week veg. Indoor is a lot different than what I'm used to outside!

Its a bit different that's for sure.

I actually enjoy it a bit more than outdoor growing as its more involved.

You may look at the extra 2 weeks as a waste. I look at it as gathering info on your grow for next time. That’s priceless!!

I also have grown outdoor. Giving the inside grow a try with some clones from a really nice JH that I grew last summer.

Have a tent with a 6, 4’ T5ho fixture. The 3 girls are in 1 gallon planters and have been lsted for 4 weeks since being put in planters. Then into the tent they went. Must say they are looking quite nice.

Will run till they are done and see what I get. Evaluate the results and go from there.

I have lots of seeds that I made from a bunch of different stains to play with.

This is so much fun!!!

The extra veg hits the point of diminishing returns when you end up with a plant that's too big to be lit by your light. That's assuming that you pot it up, have enough room/air flow, etc.

I meant as a waste of power and flowering time. I'm just looking for optimum veg time to get the best bang for my buck.

I am in a similar position!
My plan is to uppot this 5 gal monster 2+ months vegged to a 10 or 20 gallon pot as I put it into the flower tent. Then I'll give it another week or two 24/0 to develop in there in the scrog.
Even if it would already fill the scrog if I hit 12/12 now without uppotting, I feel the bigger root system, thicker stem etc. developed in that time will help her develop bigger buds in the end.

The reason I'm growing indoor now is because we sold the farm that I grew on for the past decade and a half. It may have been guerilla grown but it could've competed with a lot of the top shelf stuff sold in these parts.
The house that we bought has a small apartment attached to the house and that's my "grow room". I use a 5'x5' tent with a 600w HID and a 440cfm online fan to cool it and to scrub the exhaust.. I'm using a cool tube so the light spread is only about 3 1/2'x3 1/2'.. I got the bigger tent to have some room to move around the plants. I'm liking being able to grow year around but miss the monster plants I was able to grow outside.

There's a couple of sayings from the vegetable and ornamental gardeners world;

More roots, more fruits.

Put a 2$ plant in a 10$ hole.
