I love my Phillips CDM 860s for veg, but only have elec. ballasts available
Soooooo, looking to get a couple halides for veg, Ushio's opti-blue has my attention and Sunmaster Full Nova Metal Halide Bulb1000W.
the full nova claims to be a balanced full spectrum but it's rated
6,oooK, when i hear full spec.
4,000K seems to be a better representation.
the ushio has a higher lumen output
and the sunmaster has better PAR/umol

anyone using any of these bulbs, opinions

football bulbs, haha, I was using the ultra sun 7200K in cooltubes that barely left room for air to be vented and the're so long I had to build a wire frame
on the nose to keep it from wiggling/banging on the sides of the tube.
I used regular sunmasters and solarmax bulbs 3-4yrs ago and was happy with both of them,
never tried Ushio but heard lots of very happy users.
I'm leaning towards the ushio opti-blue

Ushio’s are my bulbs of choice (veg&bloom), but I’ve been using Sunmaster’s during veg since they “mastered” the sun. I have at least one Sunmaster in each veg room, figure that mixing them in with the Ushios can’t hurt.
