ventilation/exhaust set up

i am about to buy a 3x3 grow tent. my plan is to SOG from clones. i have an air cooled hood for my light already. i have read a number of different opinions about venting/exhausting, but no diagrams. i want to order everything i would need at one time, so my request would be for someone to show a couple of different options with diagrams. i just seem to understand it better that way. :dunce:

also does a passive intake/exaust mean there are no fans?

is a passive intake/exhaust possible with a carbon filter?

passive means no fan. Start with a 4" hole somewhere near the bottom of the tent for a passive intake.
(your intake will not have a carbon filter)

You exhaust has a carbon filter mounted either inside or outside the tent. Inside would be best from what I hear. Heres a pic of a exhaust/filter combo on the outside of a box. Just imagine it flipped to the inside. Hope this is a good start.

This is how I'd set it up (you can have more plants if you like) with an oscillating fan to circulate air around the plants, and a powerful fan sucking through your hood with the option to blow through a carbon filter. If temps become an issue you may have to add a seperate exhaust fan to blow through the filter and isolate the light cooling, ie: have it's own cool air intake and hot air exhaust. That will depend on the wattage of your lamp and how close you want your plants to be (the closer the better, unless it's too hot for them).

Picture stolen from fdd2blk btw.
