Viparspectra LED and MITES!

Just a question for everyone to see if theyve come across the same problem as I.
I recently purchased a Viparspectra 300w from the company themselves after previously using a DIY CFL light. Second day after putting up the lights I noticed white specks on the leaves, mainly the two or three buds under the lights. So first thought was starting to bleech them from the brightness. After closer inspection... Spider Mites!!! Now i know the deadlyness of the mite on a cannabis plant and know they reproduce like crazy and so hard to get rid of.

So... I have not visited another garden with the mites, nor have I never had mites in my indoor or outdoor gardens. Could they have been on the light from the factory??????

I have been through all situations where they might have came from and I cant think nothing more than from the light. Hopefully someone can pass this along or reply with more knowlege on these.critters. could they have been dormant in the soil? They did not show at flip. I am 6 weeks into flower and they just showed. I went to my local garden shop and we decided on sns-217. I had no choice but to spray the buds as well as the leafs so i will start a thread on it for people to see the outcome of buds being sprayed with the sns this far into flower. I appreciate all the help you guys can give me. Thanks

Do you know of the sns-217? Is there something better to use in late bloom? sns seems to work so far. Clean and wiped down the room with it and steralized outside the grow room also. Removed all clothing i was working in to and bagged it and threw it into a hot wash. Ill treat again in a few days when more eggs supposidly hatch. Lucky there has been minimul damage on some leaves and a few budsites so far only. No webbing what so ever so I think im cathing it early on. Should i keep using the sns treatment till harvest?

trifecta says it leaves no residue the sns says it's absorbed into the plant not good in flower, check out the trifecta link above.

This morning I went to check pH and notice the telltale signs of SM on ONE plant. The plant next to it has none. A plant in an adjacent tent has none (all from same seeds). I took it out and sprayed t down with H2O2. Did the others as well

I also use Aptus Fasilitor (silione supplement) which is supposed to make plants tough for mites

ANY silica sup. will work!

Aptus is some of the most over priced, unneeded stuff you can spend $ on!

Sorry pet but, that's true.....

Geese! Not even Orchid, Rose, or African Violet lovers spend so much on things like Aptus!

Neither did I. My hydro store gave it to me to try, but what to use instead?

I will say this though, the plant that is almost ready sturdied up considerably once I started using it

the only way I think mite would come with the light would be if it was a customer return that had been used in a room that had mites & possibly had eggs in it but far fetched at best I use the garden safe spray from wal-mart for mites late in bloom mites love roses & a host of other plants & trees commonly found in yards & actually like some strains more than others & they seem to get fruitful & multiply when things get to budding good I think if I remember right sns uses rosemary that has a wang to it that takes a while to go away

With mites you need to use a three battle approach. By this I mean three different products I use Dawn dish soap with a dash of Azamax I then hit them with SM90 and finally Canola oil with Dawn added. Be sure to do this every three days switch it up each time.
I have read other people using essential oils, hot pepper concentrate.. Remember switch it up each time...

I used sns 217 during veg, 2 applications 5 days apart, completely soaked the plants, now finishing up flowering and no signs of mites. Ironically i had the same issue with viparspectra and mites, as soon as i got the light i got mites

I moved to calaveras co. from Stockton & even at my 1000ft. altitude it's cold definitely not spidermite weather I have not had a spidermite since moving here you might of got spidermite eggs somehow then when they hit your grow environment hatched & multiplied I used to spray with organacide every 2-3 weeks in veg as a preventive measure then I kept the garden safe stuff on hand ( about $7.00 wal-mart) it's safe on fruit up to the day of harvest it stops mites in their tracks I hope you get the upper hand on them mites they're destructive

Yeah, Im about an hour south of Tahoe so its cold! Lol. But originally from SoCal, so i always complain. Got alot of buddies over your way.
If its any useful info. First sign of mite damage was very center bud..second day spread to two or three surrounding buds. And thats when i started the spray. Ive seen two other buds with slight damage, but nothing no where else. Have not seen mites or dammage since spraying. Outer buds never got affected. Here she lies now..
