I planted these dwarf lake iris about 6 years ago and now they are all over the place...

Yep that's a trillium alright. It's illegal to pick them here (Ontario) but OK to transplant them. Each plant takes 7 years (I think) to flower, and if the flowers are picked the plant dies. It's the provincial flower of Ontario and is on a lot of gov. stuff too.is this a trillium?

Hey Lacy, the card on my Nelly Moser says full sun. I have another climatis with purple blooms that grows well in shade but not sun. I am so confused so I put my Nelly Moser in a spot the gets about 6 hours of sun per day.
I have chopped a bleeding heart bush down twice now and it still keeps on growing like crazy. I have another one white that is big too, but that spot can hold it, lol.
My Stella D'Oros are ready to bloom too, lol. I luv flowers.
So far in bloom I have, lots of Columbine, Anemomies, Dianthus and the annuals I planted.
My tulips, hyacinth, widflowers daffodils and all spring bulbs are done now, sad. My lillies are ready to bloom soon though.
I will stop rambling about my gardens now, but I luv it, lol.

You can transplant them if you want to. My mom had a bunch on the north side of our house where they were in shade, and they were lovely in the spring. When I was out in the bush planting a couple of weeks ago they were all over the forest floor under the trees. I like walking around the bush in the spring and looking at the wildflowers, truely beautiful.It sure is a Trillium, our provincial flower. What a lovely flower too, wish I could pick em, lol.

Yes there is a lot of mixed intructions of this variety but I have the encyclopedia of clematis and 4 to 6 hours according of direct sunlihgt is perfect, Thats is about what mine gets in the front and it is growing much nicer than the one in the shade.
I love gardening flowers as well. Its such a pleasurable past time.
Yes my lilies ate up and ready to bloom shortly too. A lot also depends on the soil and how fertile it is etc. I know that I am transplanting a few that just do not receive enough light due to the fact that the trees have known grown bigger.

They are. I have a bunch of them that I transplanted years ago that I look forward to each year. We have so many of them growing around me here. The reason why it takes so long for them to reflower is because they are only a single flowerred flower so when you pick the top of the flower, there is nothing to keep it growing so its new growth has to start from the root system.
