I got a box of wago 222-412 and can't seem to get them to grip the wires, I'm using 22, 20, and 18 gauge stranded wires. they won't hold any of them after they are locked i can gently pull the wire back out. What am i missing?

Hmm!
It should not be that easy. Are you sure they are true Wagos or cheap fake Wagos from e3ay?
Single core wire should hold better than stranded wire. Maybe you should solder the twisted wire ends for more durable connections.

True wago, i was wondering about that. I can feel it get some bite but not enough.
They have a simple spring clip inside and are actually designed for solid core wires, as they eg. come out of the wall( awg18 ).But if you solder the twisted wire ends to make it more solid, it will hold much better because the clamp has more grip.

Yeah it was but i didn'see it till i read the post. My old eyes couldn't read the writing on the box and i never turned the box. That's what happens when you got a buzz and no coffee.
