ok dudes i was thinkin that 100 watts or more was enough for 1 plant so for 6 plants 1000 watts would be plenty what does everyone think?? whats your input on plant to watt ratio??

It would work if you could concentrate the full 100w optimally (2ft-2ft-4ft)
50w pr m2 is optimal for most strains about today.
Some sativas will want more some hybrids happy with less.

But if you go buy that you sould get pretty decent grow

i think i remember someone stating on a previous thread that you want to try and aim for 50 watts per square foot or some shit like that, u might want to look through the facts for more correct info on this, i know its in there somewhere

50w a sq. meter? yah......how about no.try more along the lines of 50w sq. ft.. 50w sq meter wouldnt do much other than have some stretchy ass plants.
Watts per plant is kind of a "not smart" way to look at it,if you use that line of thinking, its sounds as if you assume that a 10ft plant and a 3 ft. plant would be happy with the same amount of light(50w). Go with watts/sq. ft. instead.

According to all reputable source materials I've read 50w per plant is great.

I like 600w HPS they produce dense buds, more than enough for six plants as the 600w HPS is suitable for an area of 4x4 ft.

lol sorry I dont know why I put m2
Can clearly see I meant ft

But yes optimal is 50w pr foot but I have known growers do well with far less.
I think 50w pr plant would have to depends on the room used

It really depends on how big the room is. If you are in a 3x3 room with a 1000w HPS, the plants are going to be getting a HELL of a lot more light then if you are growing in a 10x10 room. The smaller you make the room, and the more mylar or reflective material you place on the walls, the more concentrated the light is, and the less light is wasted on things other than the plants. You want to concentrate your light on the plants. You could do 6 plants easily under a 400w HPS if your room was small enough, and CERTAINLY under a 600w HPS.

yea fit 6 plants under my 400 watt mh/hps, i condensed the area size of the grow to about 3x4. Of course i had it boxed in with mylar walls so i really didnt waste any light at all.
