so i am growing a bagseed called Great House Purple Train Wreck..(i dont know why such a long name) it is a sativa. ive been using 100W(actual watts) worth of cfl's... It started out kind of as a joke... but i got in to it so i made a grow room got mylar nutes and so on... now i have just enetered week 10 of flowering and there are still a lot of clear trichomes... I think i may have vegged it for like 8 weeks.. because it has been 18 weeks since i planted her.. anyhow does this seem especially long to anyone else or is it normal for some strains. i want to harvest it but i want it to be as potent as possible because it is a pretty low yielder... maybe 14g

thanks

Same here, have some bag seed that looked good as hell growing in a Aerogarden of all things. all but one survived. Now it has been flowering for about 8 weeks and there are some good brown red hairs on them. There is still tons of white long hairs but now the rest of the plant it starting to wilt away and turn yellow and die. The buds are still changing everyday. I am trying to get as much of of it as i can but i think it will be about 14 gm also. now the rest of the plant is dying/wilting should i harvest now or wait until it looks like the buds are done?
Whats the bad side about waiting
? I know i should start my own thread but situation is very similar.

yeah it is, my fan leaves have almost all fallen off, just the top two sets remain. the bud is still bursting with new hairs but close to 80% of the other hairs are red/brown. i have switched my lights down to 9 hours light/ 15 hours dark. to try and speed up the flowering, i know this will hurt my yield but ive been waiting so long to plant my Lowryder 2, g13 labs power skunk, and fem. white widow(which i got all of just for buying 5, feminized lowryder 2s). i have been flushing for 2 waters, allowing the plant to COMPLETELY dry out between them. The Bud looks really good. my leaves got real crispy before they eventually fell off. ...

to answer your questions i would wait till the buds are done. get a jewlers loupe, or a cheap pocket microscope from radioshack and look at the trichomes on your plant if they are cloudy/amber its probably time to harvest... there is a lot of info on here about that, and what to use to look at them.

It all depends on the strain, my arjans ultra haze too about 15 weeks, i've heard of some thai sats going for 6 months.
Weed is strong willed, and its not ready until its ready.

18 weeks of love, sweat and tears for 14 grams? Either you need to find a new strain or try something new. That's less than a gram a week, and it sounds like you have a few more weeks to go...

whatever dude, it was my first grow i didnt pay anything for the seeds. i learned a shitload and now i plan on using that knowledge to grow a shitload of dank ass weed. and yeah i do plan on using better lights, and techniques this time around. seeing as this one grew under a light in my bathroom on a stool for the first 8 weeks about anything would be better, ha. im glad i grew it It was worth it.

you learn from you mistakes. we all have f**cked up one way onther. everyone has there own way of growing to. there is NO apsualute way that you have to grow. some ways may work better than others. your grows will only get better as you go to. good luck

so im pretty sure she's ready for harvest, theres still some clear trichs(not many) LOTS of cloudy trichs and a good # of ambers... my Girlfriend wants me to harvest it before it turns all amber so, i think ill use my day off today to tend to her. im excited to start my next grow... which will be 3 lowryder 2's, 2 g13 labs power skunk, 1 fem white widow, and a Blue Dream clone from a club here in california. i know the lowryers 2s are auto-flowering so what i plan to do is. plant three lr2's wait a month then plant the rest of them... that way the lr2's will be done a month after i plant the others, allowing me to switch the over to a flowering schedule.
