Well, this sucks... Gotta shorten my veg :/

Hey, all.
Just thought Id start a short thread ab what I'M FORCED to do with my new grow. I'm a fairly seasoned grower(8years growing) thats done indoor and outdoor with a multitude of genetics. I'm starting this, if for no other reason, just to see if maybe someone has had experience with what I'm about to do, and could possibly tell me if I'm wasting my time with this one. In all my years of growing, Ive never flowered a plant with less than 5-6 weeks veg:roll:
I recently started about 20 feminized seeds. Genetics vary, but half the garden is Humboldts Black DOG and Sapphire OG. I'll be flowering out in Organic soil, under 600 HPSs. I've decided I'll do a simple topping right before flowering to hopefully help the lowers catch up a little, but I wont have time for any advanced topping for better yield, unfortunately(which takes most of the fun out of indoor growing lol)
This was supposed to be a full 6-7 week veg, then I was gna keep my healthiest 16 and flower them out under four 600s... until I was told by my... wonderful, beautiful, not a pain in the ass at all, ol lady that we'll be moving on July 1st. I now have 17 seedlings that were just started almost two weeks ago. Ive done the math, and if I veg till the end of the month, I'll have between 3-4 weeks veg FROM SEED. I can start flowering them then, and get in about 8 and a half weeks 12/12 before I have to chop. Both the Humboldt strains are advertised as 8 weekers. Anyone ever actually grow Black DOG or Sapphire OG indoors in soil?I can grow all the way to close to moving day and dry at the new place or at my brothers house.(We usually dry our outdoor there, because he has more room) If the chronic doesnt reach full potency, I can always sell the inferior smoke thats still ok and blow the really immature stuff into dab.

I have two simple questions...
Has anyone ever seen Black DOG or Sapphire OG finish in soil in 8-9 weeks?
Is there any chance of AN EXPERIENCED grower yielding at least 2 zips per plant with this rediculous, unhealthy, not smart, shortened veg time?
Thanks in advance to any and all help:blsmoke:

I'll post a few pics on this thread, from time to time, if anyone is interested in seeing exactly what I end up with.
I'll be honest. I'm still considering just killing the babies and starting over at the new place, but if I can pull a pillow or two of good chronic, then I'll see it through.
I know how to grow, y'all, but I have no idea exactly how this'll turn out.

i was actually looking into those strains recently, looks like most people are going 9 weeks from flip from what ive seen on others' grows.. even if you put them into 12/12 from today you may still be pulling them early. those babies will probably still go a couple weeks before showing sex and than 8-9 weeks from there?? its only 10 weeks to july 1st from now if im not mistaken.

it would be a waste to kill em now though, better to harvest premature bud than to abort those babies, my oppinion.bongsmilie

Thanks for jumpin in here, j.t.
...9 weeeks from flip, huh? That could take me to ALMOST full potency with my flowering time.
...Thats another thing I was curious about. seeing as how they'll only be about 25 days from seed, will they actually begin to flower like a plant with a normal veg? Will they flip right away?

Thanks for the input, homie. This is uncharted territory for me here. Its uncomfortable not knowing. It makes me feel like a dumbass :dunce: lol

no probs.. hey, shit happens lol.
it just seems since the seeds are already out the ground, why not make a go of them. as long as its safe to do so before the move.

Are those pics the most recent pics? i dont have experience with 12/12 from seed, but am looking into growing like that. but, it still takes about 3 weeks before the plant starts flowering usually is what i see people saying.will probably be awhile before yours start flowering. i had 4 week veg plants go into 12/12 recently, one still took almost a week to throw pistils:wall: lol

maybe transplant into some coco? might help improve the yield and speed up some veg growth that is still needed, seeing as you can feed daily... now coco i do have experience with, and will recommend to anyone lol.. also look into alternate light cycles.. like 11/13 or 10/14.. might shave a week off also... 12/12 for a couple weeks than taper down. could do it for ya.

Its definitely safe to do so.
Id never put my loved ones at risk. Ever.
Id kill em today and never grow again if I couldnt do it and keep my family safe at the same time.

Yeah, if Id planned a fast grow, I definitely WOULDVE put them in a neutral medium and ran them hydroponically.... But thats not the case, and I wont pull them from the soil now. They are where they'll grow at. Theyll go from the cups to some 4-5 gallon pots filled with Organic dirt.
Youre absolutely right tho. Running them hydro wouldve helped move things faster, and gotten me a better veg. Hell, as small as theyre gonna be, I coulda built them an aeroflo table and flowered them out like clones in an aero system, if Id planned this. Too late now. Theyre organic soil girls.

im not a seasoned vet, only a few grows(all good runs, and with varying methods). so take what i say with a grain of salt.. but i do put in leg work in the research department lol:lol:

and no doubt we all try to grow with safety as our number one priority(i hope, haha). was more talking in the line of house/apartment showings/inspections and things of that nature.. some of us still gotta watch the baconbongsmilie

Here's the babies, atm...
They're under Flouros(warm and cool) and a T5
They're not even two weeks from seed right now...
If you're an 8 year experienced grower, what are you doing growing under fluorescent lighting from seed? Ya already goofed, mate.

I've already proven thru repeated tests that there is no reason to go bigger than 3 gallon pots at the size you'll be working with. My last grow was 6 weeks from seed in veg, 5 vs 7 gal pots, and there ended up being no difference between the two. Hell, I had one straggler I stuffed in a random ~2.5 gal pot that outgrew one of the plants in 5 gal pots. You'll be wasting nutes and soil gong that big.

The difference is how often you have to water. For some people it's enough, for convenience reasons.

The best ways to get better results from short cycle is to give them lots of light and run them warm.

Love my fluorescents and T5s. Been using them for years. My babies are in a small closet, for now, and it stays nice and cool in there with the lighting im using. To each their own, friend. Good luck.

Yeah, I've always found that overkill is always better. Soil is not that expensive.

Yeah, I bumped them up to 19/5. I'll do it again and move them to 20/4 here in a day or two, before I flip them.

Thanks for all the input, y'all.
Id still like to find someone thats grown these genetics indoor, with a shortened veg, and see what kind of yield they were able to squeak out...
