Went to the Movie Theater tonight

I had received some free tickets to go see parental guidance.(Movie Sucked) -- It was me, my fiancee and her brother and sister, and when we arrived they gave us this spill about not being allowed to have our cellphones inside the theater. They gave us the option of either returning our phones to the vehicle or letting them hold on to them till after the movie. We decided to put them in the vehicle.

After waiting in a line of people waiting to have this free movie night, we made it to the theater doors and there waiting was a couple security guards waiting to wand you for your cellphone. When it became my turn, they wanded me and let me go on in to the theater. After getting to our seats I was thinking about how strict they were about cellphones, and remembered that I always carry a pocket knife that is clipped to my pocket. It made me think that with all this bullshit about guns going on and whatever, they went to this length to scan people for cellphones, but let me walk right in with a knife.

Does anyone see something wrong with this picture?

The only problem I see was that people are actually willing to pay and have to return the phones to their cars or leave. If everyone just left, the theater would change that rule so fast it would make your head spin.

I turn my phone to vibrate so it doesn't disturb others in the theater, but I still want people to get a hold of my if an emergency happens, or the alarm goes off in my home, or whatever else. If the phone rings and its an important person calling me, i go to the lobby and talk.

The reason this rule is in place is because people cannot behave with any respect for anyone else. Of course the theater has to punish everyone because of this instead of just having people ask them to turn their phone off and please do not disturb others.

Blame parents for never teaching their kids any manners, those kids grow up to be the ones who talk loud at the movie while on their phone with their BFF.

Good point, it could have been a stealthy gun/weapon check, disguised as a cell phone scan to avoid setting the wrong tone.

Yea, except they didn't even see my knife or detect it with the wand. The clip was on the outside of my pocket with a big W for Winchester on it. Hmmm. Looks like someone sucks at their job.
