I have been growing this plant for over a month and its still small as hell. I dont know what im doing wrong so I will describe my setup so maybe someone can help me out. I am currently growing in 12 ft cubed box with 2 cfls both 40 watts one bright and one cool. I am using Jiffy Premium seed starting soil. I water whenever the plant shows it needs water. As you can see its not big at all. Could that be because of a faulty seed? I dont understand why its growing so slow. If you have any other questions about my setup I will be happy to answer them. Just someone please get me on the right path. - Thanks

I'm in the mist of my first setup so I don't claim to be an expert but from what I've learned and read I would suggest at the very minimum that your lights are wayyy to far from the plant. If you are only using CFL's they should be within 4-6 inches from the little girl. She's definetly growing, but seems to be using all of her energy to grow upwards towards the light and has very little left to develop foliage. I'm right around a month myself and have been able to measure growth in height and foliage every couple of days. As a matter of fire safety, the size restrictions of my room don't allow for HPS, Metal Halide, etc. so I am only using 4 4' FLURO. 2 of them are T5 HO positioned on the sides. I have photos of the plant size just under 1 month as well as light positioning but can't seem to attach them to this response because of JPEG size restrictions (pics are 2848w pixel x 2134h pixel - site restictrions are 800 x 800). If anyone knows how I can shrink the photo's to fit or to add them as a thumbnail, please let me know! I hope this was of help and I'm sure the experts on here can give you much more advice. Hey, on the plus side at least she's growin'

what's the size of that container she's growing in? It looks a little small to be using for a plant over a few weeks old. If that's the case, it could be that the roots are being impeded which stunts growth significantly. Also, have you introduced any nutrients yet? If so what's the ratio of Nitrogen-Phos-Potasium in the nutes?

I have been using no nutrients. I dont like to smoke chemicals =/ But still. It should not stunt the growth that much. I may try transplanting it to something bigger.

Man tht shitty for a month , have you got drainage at the bottom of that container?

Also that container is crap for planting , seeing as how its see through , you need somthing opaque( non- see through) , or paint it black. Light can affect your roots.

Are your lights the correct spectrum ? Is it warm enough? Humidity?
