What are the gravity fed pots like?

ive just been to my hydroponics shop looking to start up....and the fella there was showing me these gravity fed pots (6 of them linked up) that run from a main ballast tank, they feed the plants in 20ml burst of water and u mix ur nutrients an that in the main tank, they reccommended coco to put in the pots.....So they are like a hydroponic/soil mix i suppose.

they seem really good.

Does anyone know more about these and if you have used them an give me sum feed back on them.
