Are you growing in soil or hydro? What is your setup like? Have you selected your soil mix and your fertilzers yet? More info needed.

okay i got a freshly sprouted seed in a jiffy pellet under one 100 watt floro im going to transplant in a week or so to a cup or something when i see roots comming out of the bag?>? im planing on growing in soil so far i got 4 dry quarts of AFRICAN violet mix and i dont know whatelse i should mix it with ?> need help??

i still need to selcect a fertilizer but i dont know which one would be best??

cheeto your a cop! and i thank all that help me even tho i dont get that much . . . shit im raising this plant of nothing . . and i doubt i will ask why its turned yellow all im trying to do is get good advise for a good start . . . .

My best bet would be to just grow it and see what happens. Thats what I did and my plants look good.

I use plotting soil from wal-mart. $2.00 a bag.

Some kind of grow light.

I don't really know what to tell you. Just buy some cheap stuff and upgrade as you go along.

If your leafs turn yellow then you over fertilizered. Sorry I can't help you more.

I'd not use the african violet soil but if your looking for cheap and local buy get some moisture control miracle grow.The 100 wat bulb is a waste of time go to ebay and get a 400 watt hps if going to use only 1 type of light or better yet a switchable ballest used can get a setup for under $90 bucks shipped.Don't use peat pellets as they can starngle and promote root rot use rockwool or plant right into the soil.A 5 gal bucket works fine just put your new seedling right in there less transplanting less shock.Get some basic hydro nutes as they have it all and mix according to bottle.Keep water aroun a 6 ph level.Use a ph meter or ph test kit from home depo.And like they said research and read online you will be consumed with all the info..have fun

I guess most growers go though trail and error? I know that what I did before I got a nice size plant.
