Of course they prefer the sun. It's their natural environment. As long as the heat and humidity are not too high, the sun will provide the best light. I'll go out on a limb and say that most grow indoors NOT because they prefer artificial light and prefer paying higher electric bills that arouse suspicion but because either they can't control the weather (snow, rain, hail), fear discovery or theft, or simply don't have the outside space. I take my plants out into natural sun every chance I get.

Nice post hearmenow! People also prefer to grow indoors because you can cut the time it takes to grow substantially! Especially with the Sea of Green method.

My problem was with 18-6. I only get about 10 hours of sunlight, so I had to augment with 6 hours under artificial light. I've read where messing with the amount of light the plant receive could make them hermie or even male. That's a risk I took. Out of 7 plants from badseed, I have 2 females. Not the best odds but my plants have been through a lot, including 5 days of 90+ F temperatures. My next grow, I am making sure my heat doesn't get above 80F.
